Lukaku at 17m is a steal

I think im the only one not totally sold on Lukaku. I think Benteke offers a team more. If he was playing for a top team he would be unstoppable. Also i have a bet with a mate that he will start first game of World Cup instead of Lukaka and i cant afford to loose :)

Saido berahino maybe? I mentioned him start season as potential target on here and gone on to have very good season. Rumours although might not be accurate of dressing room bust up between him and other players due to Cardiff late winner.

He'd be a good signing as a youngster to mold into a starting player for us... Don't know if he's an Albion lad though??

I genuinely think if we should try get some good players of quality in this summer then add to that 2-3 young English players who we can improve and use as squad players or if they are good enough first team players.

Not sure who he supported, he grew up from age of 10 in Newtown just next to Aston! but Albion spotted him when he was a teen! he is on around 8-10k a week now jumping up from apparent £400 a week contract he was on at start of season.

He is a quality player. Would only improve the team and couldn't fail to at least match Gabby and Weimann's "contributions" in those positions this season.

Sign him up Paul.

http://news.coral.co.uk/football/premier-league/aston-villa-newcastle-tracking-6m-arsenal-target-serge-aurier_27878.html

ersatile Ivory Coast international defender Serge Aurier has emerged as a target for Premier League pair Aston Villa and Newcastle United, as well as odds-on 4/9 FA Cup favourites Arsenal.

According to tabloid rumours, attacking Toulouse right back Aurier, 21, who can also operate at centre half, wants to quit the French club – where he is under contract until 2018 – in the summer. He is reportedly valued at around £6m.

Toulouse are comfortably mid-table in Ligue 1, but are 10 points off the European places with seven games left. Aurier has scored five goals and made seven assists in the league from a wingback berth, as manager Alain Casanova plays with a back three.

Villa manager Paul Lambert is looking to reinforce the right-sided full back spot following claims he fell out with Matthew Lowton. The West Midlands outfit have often deployed Dutchman Leandro Bacuna in this position this term, but he is the club’s second top-scorer behind Christian Benteke, so is more valuable further forward.

Newcastle, meanwhile, are believed to be bracing themselves for a summer bid from 11/1 Champions League chances PSG for their first-choice right back Mathieu Debuchy. Alan Pardew saw former director of football Joe Kinnear sell playmaker Yohan Cabaye to the French champions in January.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger targeted Aurier because Bacary Sagna is out of contract at the Emirates at the end of the season. The France defender is understood to want a three-year deal from Arsenal, but that would go against the club’s policy of only offering one-year contracts to players over the age of 30.

Aurier and Toulouse teammate Jean-Daniel Akpa-Akpro are both set to go to the World Cup this summer with their country. The Ivory Coast have been drawn in Group C with pool favourites Colombia, Greece and Japan, and are even-money to qualify for the knockout phase.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2595258/Saido-Berahino-considers-leaving-West-Bromwich-dressing-room-bust-James-Morrison.html

West Bromwich Albion's handling of Saturday's dressing room brawl, with the club now set to sell the talented forward.

The England Under-21 international was last night considering pressing charges against team-mate James Morrison, who is believed to have punched Berahino after the dramatic 3-3 draw against Cardiff.
At the very least, it is looking increasingly likely the youngster's West Brom career will come to an abrupt end this summer; with members of the club's hierarchy feeling the relationship between Berahino and certain senior members of the Baggies squad is now beyond repair. Berahino enjoyed an excellent start to the season, scoring six goals for the club before Christmas - including a brilliant winner against Manchester United at Old Trafford.
He scored an extra two goals in the period between Steve Clarke's sacking on December 14 and Pepe Mel's appointment on January 9 - but has not added to his tally since the Spaniard's arrival.
Berahino, who is contracted to the club until 2017, has attracted interest from Arsenal, Chelsea and Everton in recent months.

Morrison has been nothing but trouble at the Albion this weekend. We don't need that sort of character at Villa.

On about Saido Berahino not James Morrison.

In that case I agree :)

Barcelona have a transfer embargo which means that our Messi bid will just have to wait another yr :(

They can still sell players, not sure they'll be wanting to though with Valdes and Puyol leaving this summer.

(Messi bid still on)

From what was said on the radio earlier it sounds like they can't sell players either.
