Transfer Speculation (Winter 2014)

Just out of curiosity and boredom. These stats are probably irrelevant as they are all playing in different leagues but its interesting nonetheless.

Defours stats:

Season Team Tournament Apps Goals Assists Shots Key Passes Dribbles Fouled Offs Disp Trn Rating

2013/2014 F. Porto ICL 4(1) - - 0.6 0.4 0.4 0.2 - 0.4 1.4 6.47

2012/2013 F. Porto ICL 4(3) 1 - 0.6 0.3 0.6 - - 0.1 0.1 6.48

2011/2012 F. Porto ICL 3(3) - - 0.8 1.3 - 0.3 - 0.5 0.3 6.46

Total     11 (7) 1   0.7 0.7 0.5 0.3 NaN 0.3 0.5 6.47

Defour really has had a poor three years............

well that looked better in the typing section....... lol

You've got Defour's Champions League stats there, not his league ones. He's actually played 57 league games since joining them in 2011 (losing only once!). I can't comment on his level of performance but it seems this season is the only one he's not really featured much.

just to lift the boredom aswell, does everyone remember where they were and what they were doing on January 17th at around 10.30 am when that gold band popped up at the bottom of the sky sports news screen that read 'ASTON VILLA AGREE FEE FOR DARREN BENT'?

I do, I was off work that week luckily, so the trouser explosion wasn't too embarrassing. I felt like running out into the street. Sorry about this, but things are so s**t at the minute.

Dont know what this really shows. Besides our CM's not being that great. They are on par with Holtby who has barely played or had a run of games. Comparing to some other established midfielders in the country from mid level clubs they are really far behind (including Delph). They add nothing in attack ( as we all know)

Kiyotake has good numbers but in a weaker competition. Defour really has had a poor three years............

well that looked better in the typing section....... lol

You've got Defour's Champions League Stats there. http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/steven-defour/leistungsdaten/spieler_33866_gesamt.html

He's actually played 57 league games since joining Porto. I can't comment on his level of performance but it seems this season is the only one he has not really been involved.

Yeah the website i got it off didnt have his pork and cheese stats (and its also an irrelevant league in quality) so i used his CL appearances.

Anybody got any news on the rumoured proposed permanent deal whereby Stoke  mug them selves off with signing Shiesha Ireland?

He still has the rest of the season to lay for Stoke, and after that he can go where he likes because his contract will be up.

We be getting £0 for good old Stephen.

Defour plays quite deep in midfield. He's not a number 10. What you can read into those Champions League stats is that Porto think he's good enough and trust him to regularly start in the champions league! If he was tearing it up in the champions league with goals and assists from central midfield, he would be linked with Real Madrid not us.

They want to sign him before he gets a free in the summer though.

Well this is true. The opposition Porto has played is tougher than most Premier League clubs so in that regard he has done well.

Time to stop dreaming, If Randy had loosened the purse strings we'd have made some moves by now

I know we're only 9 days into the transfer window, but we've known for MONTHS what's been needed so the quietness just points to we still haven't got a pot to piss in. Despite an expected near 100m turnover

Wasn't too surprised. People had been on here talking about a "meltdown" signing days before.
