Or a Triumph Stag, or a favourite of my youth, a Reliant Scimitar!

Something about unreliable Midlands built cars that does it for me!

What about something more modern but probably equally reliable… Jaguar XJ?

Love one, but missed the boat on the prices years ago. Cost a fortune now.

I do like the XJ40 shape. Dad always wanted one, but Jags weren't for the likes of us back then! He stuck to his Fords/Vauxhalls

I remember going out in a mates X300 (94-97) and being amazed just how quiet and refined it was.

Christ. I didn't know they could do that!

Somekind of sticky wheels? Anti Gravity technology?

I'm amazed they don't put it in their advertising.

On a serious note, why? I've been toying with getting one as my next car though that's a few years away currently.

Lovely looking cars. Last XJ I really liked.

Never took to the Ian Callum designed one at all.

Talking about these marques, makes you realise that the Midlands was home of the old British car industry - Jaguar, Rover, Land Rover, Austin, Triumph, Jensen, Reliant, plus MG in later years as well as the Rootes Group (Hillman, Humber, Sunbeam, Singer) which latterly become Chrysler Europe, then Talbot and then Peugeot, in Ryton.

As some of you will be aware I have an old motorhome. Over 30 years old and that of course.comes with its own problems. Yesterday it failed its MOT, a few lights issues but the main ine was.the weakened leaf springs. One of the joys of this motorhome is the scarcity of parts. So thats how I have come to spend an absolute fortune this.early into november.

This time 950. We put aside a grand each MOT as there is an expectation that time takes its toll. We also have a leaky window being looked at in december which will be another 500.
