  1. Aside from the endless bickering on here, I had a look on the Browns Board to see if Lerner has made much of an appearance there. Turns out, he seems to be staying away from both of his clubs. I think the rampant moodyness doesn't even exist in Cleveland anymore because they seem so used to it. I hope he doesn't intend to run us that way, but he seems pretty much set on it anyway. What's the point of doing an interview where you say you recognise that you need to communicate with the fans more and then disappearing?!
  2. All up until Modern Warfare I thought were pretty special. Then I tried playing Modern Warfare. Now, I couldn't care less about the Call of Duty games at all.
  3. Sorry, American Villans. I know it's a stereotype in America that football is boring because of the possibility of a draw, but I really don't get how you guys can watch a game of chess lasting for two and a half hours with adverts barking at you every 2 mins. And call it football.
  4. "Would you like the rephrase the question?" .... "I'm not going to be that zat person you want me to be anymore" CHANEL BLEU, THE NEW FRAGRANCE. What?
  5. Not sure what people wanted Stephen Ambrose to talk about. It was a book about the experiences of Easy Company and then about the American D-Day landings. The British army leadership was poor at times - just look at Montgomery's Market Garden as a whole. Mel Gibson is anti-British though. But who cares, he's a bellend.
  6. Missus worked for Zavvi when they got told on Christmas Eve it was toast. HMV very, very much going down the same route, although for different reasons entirely. (the genius that negotiated a MASSIVE credit on stock from Entertainment UK then went on to rue his own liquidity crisis and took the place down. Then managed to pop up in the news years later by taking that nightclub chain Oceana or whatever it's call down. Simon Douglas, give up CEO roles mate, you're clearly no good at it)
  7. We've got problems on the pitch that render this thread pointless. Then again, that was probably the wind-up anyway
  8. I take it you don't know that the "Ouiji board" mark is owned by Hasbro. It's a toy. I did one when I was 11. Nothing happened, because a) it was a piece of cardboard on a table I was 11
  9. Bloody hope not. He may be over the hill and has legs that don't go past 60 mins, but he's the only solid creative player we've got at the moment. Not that we can't have more, we're just not playing them or they're out of form. Or they're non existant (see: Ireland)
  10. Villa are shit, there's no doubt about that, but Wigan and Blackburn are WOEFUL.
  11. Blackburn, Wigan, Wolves. I think it'll be one of those seasons where none of the promoted sides go down.
  12. Pretty accurate depiction of war, then. Yes, I understand that bad things happen in war, and the Pacific war was particularly grim. Band of Brothers was superb - probably one of the best television series made in my opinion. But marines throwing stones into a hollowed out Japanese man's head with brains splattered all over the floor: do not want.
  13. I stopped watching the Pacific after about 4 episodes. Just looked like a disjointed gore-fest.
  14. You're kidding, right? I think a) He/she doesn't remember the second time He/she is a wind up merchant
  15. I don't understand how anyone can say they don't understand why fans were pissed off with Moscow. We chucked a good UEFA run away. I didn't understand it at the time, I don't understand it with the hindsight provided that we didn't end up cracking the top 4 that year anyway.
  16. I'm sure the thread title for this is "things that cheer you up"?
  17. the pitch is clearly the reason we lost zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
  18. Pro Lerner, think some shocking decisions have been made, but who the hell are we going to have as an owner? Look at Everton, nobody wants to touch them. We could have the KFC lot owning us for that matter. Faulkner, clearly must walk NOW. For defense in the past, people have commented: :"You don't know what that job entails, you try running it better, he's just clearing up O'Neill's mess" etc etc. But facts (thanks, Rafa) show more than debate: since being appointed CEO of Aston Villa, so many things have gone wrong. And you can't defend him by saying that he's had 'bad luck' since...May 2010?
  19. Unfortunately he is a bit of a "Villa legend" because of his ability and what he did with us. I know, I know, he was with us for a pretty short period considering the serving time of the proper Villa legends but football isn't like that anymore.
  20. I think that ManYoo will be up for some spilling of blood following their "B Team" loss to Palace. We should be up for it after our dull affair at Swansea, but unfortunately our manager doesn't have the ability to make many of the players feel like they should give a shit. Unlike this one last year when Houllier had no option but to send the kids into the baptism of fire (and my God they did well), sadly Mc"I'm worth 2million quid compensation"Leish will be putting such greats out as Hutton and Heskey. Get the sodding kids out playing some exciting stuff rather than these donkeys.
  21. A great servant to the Villa. His reception will clearly show that tomorrow.
  22. Fleet Foxes went through the festival season lording it up with the media hailing them as THE sound of 2011. What a load of bland, wishy-washy cat piss. They can all **** off.
