  1. The strange thing is though you normally have a player train with Fitness experts to get back to decent fitness levels before you kick a ball, not the YOUTH team, who are still likely to be fitter, and theres the risk of getting injured again!
  2. Nope, partner is expecting to give birth end of May. But I'd struggle to part with such a high amount of money to what's there currently...
  3. Is Jores Okore training with the youth team?
  4. It's going off topic but, regarding points, you have to look at the entire picutre when looking at points - finishing position. A lower point total but same finishing position, depending on the points gained by others could imply that the overall league has been more competitive. It could also mean that the teams higher up the league are causing a massive gulf in quality but you can't determine that until you look at all of the teams' point totals.
  5. 100% correct Can't disagree with that.
  6. I'd consider myself Pro-Lambert I suppose as I believe the ball drops firmly with the CEO... But results wise, I think December. I want to see what he can do with a CAM and maybe a CDM too. I do believe those two positions would make a massive difference but alas, I'm not sure I'll get my wish. Plus by then, I'm guessing Benteke might have left. Sigh.
  7. Didn't Delph play as a right sided attacking midfielder for Leeds? Did very well there I think I recall, so maybe his better position is being out wide and more attacking.
  8. As long as we sign a creative midfielder, I'm not too bothered by this. Could even score some important goals and take the pressure off CB.
  9. I'd trust Lambert more with money than McLeish. Jenas, Hutton, N'zogbia, Given anybody? Granted, AM didn't have it easy with both Petrov and Bent getting Ill / Injured respectively, but he didn't do himself any favours by paying high wages to crap players and playing 7 defenders and 3 forwards at times (http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17885326 - granted it was against Spurs, but they were on a horrible run of form at the time).
  10. You didn't have to look very far to see that HH was legitimate anyway! Thanks btw, it's great to have a real insight into the club and tell Lambo I love him But yeah, super gutted for Libor. Massive blow for us and do we now go after a striker instead of a midfielder? Hope not.
  11. Shame that, as Tonev looked to have a really good corner in the friendly against Malaga with RV scoring from it! Personally I'd like to see it alternated between Westwood and Tonev per corner/side, maybe?
  12. Aston Villa FCVerified account‏@AVFCOfficial #AVFC Guzan, Lowton, Clark, Baker, Luna, Westwood, Bacuna, Weimann, Delph, Agbonlahor ©, Tonev #AVFCLIVE Reply Retweet Favorite More Kozak on the subs bench, no target man! Kinda shocking, as I'd think a target man would do quite well against Swansea...
  13. The two constants in this whole mess are PF and RL and therefore should be blamed. Lambert is just another manager trying to do well with little to no resources compared to the rest of the premier league.
  14. This is 100% the truth and the reason why we struggle at home. Nothing gets on my nerves more than when people start to groan at a misplaced pass, or start boo-ing at HT. Football is all about trying something different, it won't always come off but you have to keep trying. If you get slated by half the crowd for making a mistake or luck not going your way whilst trying, why would you want to try again? I can't blame Lambert playing for points this season to get comfortable in the league and my personal opinion is that the football itself will improve (especially once our more important player(s) regain form) later in the season but to me, it just seems like most of the crowd at VP have never played football before, and literally have no idea what the reality is.
  15. Tekkers just retweeted this: villafansunited ‏@VillaFansUnited 2h Need to give @bentekechris20 some service, he gets chances, he will score and get back on form, that injury slowed him down! #avfc Retweeted by Bentekechristian Collapse Reply Retweet Favorite Guessing he ain't happy with the team...?
  16. Could see this a mile off, especially after yesterday's performance and interview after!
  17. Agreed. Gabby's form always dips for a while after injury but Weimann as been poor nearly most of the season. He looked lively and dangerous against Sunderland and cut a decent pass to Luna to go 1-3 against Arsenal, but that's about it.
  18. If anything, he's trying to hard and not doing what comes naturally, due to lack of confidence. He'll get 'it' back, it'll just take a little time. In the meanwhile, I would start with Kozak and bring Benteke off the bench around 60 mins in.
  19. We need to make a song based around this somehow... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xB5ceAruYrI
  20. Problem is, he has done **** all for us since we signed him. He's been dead weight since day one. Free kick v West Ham? Probably one of the most vital wins for Villa in recent times? But I can't see him having a future hear at Villa, not a Lambert player at all. Won the penalty too I believe? I like him, thought he was a key part of our best attacking displays last season so I'd like to him given one more shot.
  21. I take it all back... Probably the best outfield player today, really composed, read the game so well, loads of interceptions, good passing. Didn't deserve a penalty against him either, wondrous stuff.
  22. KEA needs to be dropped, too lightweight and not a tackle in him (and he's not a makeshift CAM!). Sylla would help balance things out in my opinion.
  23. By that logic... does anyone have a stat for Benteke's starts vs wins last season? Surely it's like 20% win, 70% loss? Therefore, Benteke is shite and should be sold.
