  1. Agreed. It feels like people completely jump over several stages. They go from "if we win this we've basically got 4th sewn up" to "we're basically out of the race for top 5 now" after we lose. It's absurd.
  2. Was a bad tackle but I honestly don't believe it was a red. As I said though, it was an idiotic decision to go in like that so I'm not really blaming the refs.

Don't really blame him too much for today. He's been completely hamstrung by injuries and players losing their heads.
  4. Don't think it was a red but was still a dumb challenge. What a **** idiot.
  5. Well I mean Cash nearly killed him once so who can blame him
  6. Same. That was Carew at his very best. When he was on his game he was like Ibrahimovic.
  7. Hopefully that was just planned. In fairness if I were the manager I probably would've only given him 45 minutes too.
  8. Yeah think people need to wait and see what Emery says before jumping to overly pessimistic conclusions.
  9. I don't rate him long term (he's getting on a bit and he's on big wages) but for the rest of the season he is hugely important.

Seems like every time we have a bit of a wobble under him (and relatively, they really have been just wobbles, and nothing compared to the kind of poor runs we used to go on occasionally under basically every previous manager), we bounce back very strongly. Worth bearing in mind for future.
  11. I have absolutely no inside knowledge and this is just vibes but I get the impression he's a big character in the dressing room.
  12. They weren't *terrible* but I think the way they were setup meant that getting a result relied on an incredible amount of luck (City missing chance after chance after chance).
  13. This is true, but it's also true that since VAR has come in the linesmen have relied on VAR much much more, so without it they may not have flagged as they're more trained to judging offsides manually. Who knows.
  14. A draw would be fine. Obviously won't be as comfortable as a win but it will still leave us in a very good position.
  15. He could well have it by the end of this calendar year.
  16. What was the deal with Oliver tonight? I'm sorry but he was horrendous. Intimidated by the home crowd?
  17. After the United game there were definitely a few on here who were acting as if we'd be lucky to get 4 points. I distinctly recall the phrase "I don't see where our next win is coming from" being uttered.
  18. I don't think we have the same kind of killer trait as Liverpool yet, but in fairness what we did tonight is exactly the sort of thing they would've done. Strolling ahead, getting pegged back and then nicking it at the death is killer instinct stuff.
  19. We've shown we can bounce back so even if we lose to Spurs we can still push on.
  20. It's nowhere near a must win - a draw would be absolutely fine. It's almost as clear a case as you will see of "must not lose".
