  1. I've been banging the Kid Kapichi (and Bob Vylan) drum for a good couple of years now. Love em both.
  2. Looking through my Blu rays last night and decided on a prison based double bill. First up was Cell 211 - Spanish/French production from 2009. Very good indeed, an incredibly tense and well acted story about a prison guard on his first day getting caught up in a riot and mistaken for an inmate. Brutal, bleak and brilliant. Followed by The much better known A Prophet - French production from 2009. This one is often used as a 'gateway' movie to contemporary French cinema and rightly so. Regarded by many as one of the best prison movies of all time. A classic.
  3. Surprised they didn't cast his son. He played a decent psychopath in Reacher.
  4. Joking aside, I've seen him a fair few times and he's always superb. *and looks fat and depressed. And fat.
  5. I wonder if he'll be looking fat and depressed. And fat.
  6. I'm about a decade late to the party but we're starting The Leftovers tonight. Heard nothing but good things so looking forward to it.
  7. Yeah that's a decent line up. I'd go for Idles, Soft Play, Yard Act and Bob Vylan alone. ##edit## Noticed The Wytches are playing too. NOICE.
  8. Just back from watching this... Good stuff. A million miles away from Hollywoods idea of a disaster movie (here, the UK is affected by almost apocalyptic flooding), very character centric and emotionally powerful with another excellent performance from Jodie Comer. Well worth your time.
  9. One for @sne David Emge (Flyboy in Romeros Dawn of the Dead) gone at 77.
  10. Terrific innit? Just waiting for the Blu ray price to come down a bit so I can watch it again. First time Director too, which is astonishing considering how mature a piece of work it is.
  11. Someone should shed some light on it for you (Happy birthday )
  12. We're watching this tonight as the good lady wife didn't see it with me when it was first released. Because of the recent exposure that Saltburn has received, hopefully this (Emerald Fennells first movie) will be getting some well deserved fresh attention. A career best performance from Carey Mulligan in a really superb drama.
  13. Tonight's movie is a long overdue rewatch of one of my favourite M.Haneke movies...
  14. Genuinely sickening.
  15. Pleasantly surprised by how good Tiny Tinas Wonderlands is (on PS5). For some reason, I thought it was just some DLC for Borderlands and not a standalone game - really decent FPS so far and it looks absolutely gorgeous.
  16. That's just what they use to wash out the spunk.
  17. I love a bit of the Stath now and again. He's good at what he does and as he showed in Spy, he doesn't take himself too seriously.
  18. Really looking forward to this. Mostly because of Issa Lopez's involvement
  19. Just back from... As a big fan of Lanthimos's previous work I'd high hopes, but this surpassed every single expectation. Its an astonishing piece of work. Heartfelt, moving, often hilarious, utterly beautiful, emotional, surreal and at times absolutely bonkers. Anchored by a career best performance from Emma Stone who is mesmerising throughout. Definitely won't be everyone, but i think it's close to a perfect movie, and I'll definitely be going to watch it again on the big screen before it's run ends.
  20. Got the Platinum on Assassin's Creed Mirage (enjoyed it) so now I'm switching between Darkest Dungeon, Coral Island, Stranded Alien Dawn, the Red Dead Redemption remaster and (yet another) run through DS3. Plenty to distract me from the DIY
  21. One of my favourite songs of all time. Love the Cardiacs and I think Tim Smith was a bona fide genius.
  22. According to a letter in Viz, the reason Tony couldn't return any of the pictures was that they were now covered in spunk.
