  1. Same here. Never got around to the books (been meaning to for years) but both of the DV movies have been outstanding.
  2. Agree she didn't have much to do in the part 1 so very difficult to judge her in that but I thought she was good in part 2 tbh. Her best performance is in Malcolm and Marie where she really showed her range. I thought the most 'phoned in' performance in part 2 was Chris Walken - I felt like he'd been beamed in from a different film (and I bloody love him!)
  3. Ministry (with Jello Biafra) - Aryan Embarrassment
  4. YES! absolute shoe-in for one of my AOTY even this early on. Another banger from Uncle Al and the boys
  5. Never got the BMTH hype to be honest. My eldest used to absolutely love them, and although she and I share a lot of musical overlap this was one where we drastically differed. Oh, and by all accounts Oli Sykes is an absolute word removed so there's that.
  6. Going to see it for a second time today - absolutely stunning piece of work from Villeneuve.
  7. We're a lucky bunch of sacks of meat and bone and that's it. When you're gone you're gone.
  8. Yep, just watched it and totally agree. Nice to see Cosmo Jarvis get such a prominent role in it as I rate him very highly indeed. Looking forward to watching more.
  9. Thoroughly enjoyed this one. Terrific cast with Olivia Colman and Jessie Buckley both on brilliant form.
  10. Yeah well, I love him and would love to spend an evening talking about movies with him. Ive never met anyone who out-geeks me on movies, but i reckon he'd manage it
  11. No. They are frequently stylised around different genres (often using multiple genres in one movie), but I wouldn't say that they are comic book style in style tbh (maybe elements of Kill Bill?) He does love a cool soundtrack though and let's face it, he does it very well.
  12. Yep, right before "This drink tastes off..."
  13. Disappointed this KW took so long...
  14. Picked up one of my favourites of the 80s 'Video Nasties' on Blu ray recently... Not to be confused with the iconic 1957 Tourneur horror, this is schlocky, ott gory, ridiculous nonsense which is played totally straight by the cast (making it even funnier). Utterly daft and I love it
  15. This has been on heavy rotation and it's right up there with their best work for me.
  16. Actor Tony Ganios (Porkys, The Wanderers) Gone at 64. "Leave the kid alone..."
  17. One of my biggest regrets is selling my Gibson SG and Les Paul when I packed in playing live many years ago. The money was nice (and needed) at the time but they were both so lovely to play
