  1. Lambert's the one parting the sea. I'm pretty sure that's Wiz next to him, saying "You're only parting the sea because Culverhouse told you how to. We don't even want the sea parted in Ye Olde Norwich, we like the sea. See ya, good luck.. Not!.......... wait, come back!!!"
  2. I was just about to mention Everton as an example aswell Mazrim. Arteta, Jagielka, Baines & Cahill were all bought from lower leagues (or Scotland!), I think so anyway..
  3. rubbish, I signed 14 players, released 20 and signed a new backroom staff in 1 week in FM 2012 1) Start game 2) Get rid of Heskey, Beye, Petrov, Grant, Collins, Dunne & Cuellar 3) REALLY start the game!
  4. This is the reason I like him. We've lacked a bit of grit in recent years. Herd can do the dirty stuff that the fancypants-pussyfoot-twinkletoe-billy-big-bollocks-dive-around-type players can't! :winkold:
  5. Welcome chaps! INCOGNITO AVFC did say it would be a busy week. Even if we have just signed El Ahmadi and the backroom staff, I still think that's a fairly busy week in football terms.

    General Chat

Nope! No car sharing to VP :winkold: I'm surrounded by OAPs in my road. My favourite neighbour is Marion who lives across the road. She's the nan of the trumpet-player (trumpeteer?) in my band and she lets me use her green garden waste bin for when I'm chopping down my jungle.

Cheers Rob, just out of interest...does either house next door to you have a 'sold' sign outside? No, I don't think so! Whyyyy? I need to change my VT location, I don't live in Halesowen anymore. I bought a house in Haden Hill (my address says Cradley Heath... but I don't like the sound of living in the 'Heath. I live minutes from the leisure centre, and Haden Hill sounds so much nicer!)

    Lunches

My work supplies bowls of fresh fruit every few weeks, but I barely touch any of it. I'll have the odd banana or apple, if I can be bothered. To answer the OP, I make a sandwich most days for work. I generally have ham or cheese with some kind of pickle (to mix it up a bit!). I went to Sandwell Valley Farm last weekend and bought myself a jar of 'Farmers Pickle' and a jar of 'Sweet Onion Pickle'! Both are very nice.
  9. True dat But.... were these people who found higgs boson born with the mental ability to find it... or... did they just practice a lot? Could anyone here on VT have found it if they'd looked hard enough for long enough? :winkold:
  10. I have a feeling that you just dislike jumpers or jumper-wearers.
  11. Fair enough BOF. As I say, I disagree with him too :winkold: I think Makoun and his jumper will be rocking Villa Park this year 8)
  12. What point did I miss BOF? :? "Show me where, when, what planet Makoun ever played a good game in". "versus Man Utd" "Hogg played well against Man Utd". "I answered your question". Is he not allowed to raise another point other than his original question that you answered? Hogg did play well against Man Utd, and the last I heard he was sold to Pompey. Makoun could have a similar fate after a handful of decent games. I'm guessing that was the point CI was trying to make. (BTW, I completely disagree with him because I rate Makoun and think he can be a decent player for us)
  13. Have I gone into an alternative reality ? Here's the discussion. "Show me where, when, what planet Makoun ever played a good game in". "versus Man Utd" "yeah well so did Hogg". "I answered your question". That's it. CI was trying to say Makoun had never ever played a good game for Villa. He has played good games for Villa. Sorry BOF, I must have missed where CI said Makoun had never ever played a good game for Villa. To Me, it just looked like CI raised an additional point (not directly to you), and you gave him backlash for no reason. You asked where, when, which planet. I think I answered all 3. You're trying to deny everything positive. The reality is somewhere in the middle of the 2. IMO, of course... :winkold:
  14. You asked where, when, which planet. I think I answered all 3. You're trying to deny everything positive. The reality is somewhere in the middle of the 2. I'm a fan of Makoun, but to be fair to CI, he's right. Hogg did have a good game against Man Utd when Houllier was in charge. We're not talking about Hogg. Whether Hogg played well is completely irrelevant in a discussion about which planet Makoun played well on. Makoun played well against United. That answers his query. If you want to talk about how well Hogg played in another unrelated game and another completely different discussion then maybe go here. So no, it's not right to try and divert from a response that cites a good Makoun performance by citing a time someone else played well too I dislike 'trollery' as much as everyone else BOF, but I think that's a bit unfair. Though the point might not have been explained as well as we'd like, I think CI is just continuing the discussion by saying someone can play well in one game and still go on to be a player not deemed good enough for us. I think it's completely relevant. We can't just talk about Makoun's performances. (Of course... we could also say that Hogg was simply given the job to man-mark Fletcher, and barely completed a crisp pass in that good game of his!)
  15. You asked where, when, which planet. I think I answered all 3. You're trying to deny everything positive. The reality is somewhere in the middle of the 2. I'm a fan of Makoun, but to be fair to CI, he's right. Hogg did have a good game against Man Utd when Houllier was in charge.
  16. I agree villaglint. People mention Johnson. But Gardner, Bannan, Wiemann & Albrighton were all shining in the reserves league. (That said, so was Fonz! ... and he's rarely masde the step up).
  17. NRC was one of our best players when played in the correct position in Houllier's team.
  18. Smashing it In off the underside of the crossbar would be fine, but I can't think of a way of specifying that in the chant without it losing a bit of its snappiness. Karim Al Ahmadi; IN-OFF-THE Crossbar, IN-OFF-THE Crossbar ? I like that one best, but he's not really the scoring type, he's a demolisher in the middle. It'd be better if we can incorporate that into his song!
  19. AVTV is actually pretty good. I quite like watching the press conferences, interviews & match highlights (especially as it's free to ST holders). I tried to watch the Ellamaddy interview last night and it said the same thing as yours bakerbob. That is a bit annoying that it wont work for a month :S It didn't do that last year when I renewed.
  20. I'm going to call him Ellamaddy, because it's easier, and everytime I go to type 'El Ahmadi', I type 'Al Ehmadi'.
  21. ... and the rest! I reckon it was more like £18m in total for those three!
  22. I have to say, I'm really looking forward to seeing a team with Holman & El Ahmadi in it. They're both work horses and would hopefully give most Prem oppositions a torrid time! As much as we love Petrov, he hasn't had the energy in CM for a long time, in my opinion. Something like this would be great: - - - - - - - - - - - - Bent - - - - - - - - - - - - N'Zogbia - - - - - Ireland - - - - - - - Holman - - - - - - Makoun - - - - - El Ahmadi - - - - - NEW LB - - - Clark - - - NEW CD - - - NEW RB - - - - - - - - - - - - Given - - - - - - - - - - - - - Bench: Gabby etc etc
  23. she's my friend. OMG she's going to sign up and read this thread and you guys are going to be in soooo muuuch trouublllllle  ps. is she really well goff, or skramz, or punkz? I kind of expect she isnt, like if she has a lip piercing and dark hair these guys would think she is gothic. hahaha goth. Man, who even says that anymore?? Haha yeah I thought the same. I have mates who have black back-combed hair, tattoos and piercings, but I'd just say they're into rock music. I think they'd be quite offended if I called them goths!
  24. steve bruce is not known for his intelligence but that just takes the biscuit am sure even Wayne Rooney knows what it is I reckon Steve Bruce is well known for taking the biscuit
