I don't think so. If he was out of contract then I think we'd have heard more about it. I don't know how I'd feel about getting him on loan. I think we should only be loaning two types of players: a) Players like Berbatov that play for top teams, but are no longer wanted. Players on the up from foreign sides that WE would prefer to loan, before splashing money on, what could be, a flop. Berbatov fits the first criteria, but he's one of those players that could change games for a team, but could also spend 3 weeks moping around on the pitch like a lost puppy. I think I'd say buy him with Man Utd chipping in to compensate a wage drop or look for a different option (all hypothetically assuming we were even interested in him!)

I'd imagine Berbatov's wages are too high for us, but I'd really like it if we signed him.

This should probably be in the Carroll thread... but.. why don't you think he'd go for £15m? Liverpool wont get anywhere near what they paid for him. I could see them accepting a bid of £15m (plus a few add-ons after appearances/ goals etc). I think Rodgers would just prefer a decent sum of money to build HIS Liverpool.

We've barely played with wingers this pre-season, and when N'Zogbia has played, he's usually cut inside to play behind Bent. If we bought Adam Johnson, I don't know whether we'd be changing to a different tactic to the ones used in pre-season, or whether he'd be expected to play differently to his normal game.

I'm sure we'll be in for some other decent players BJ10, just maybe we'll be giving players with Prem experience a miss. Simply because of the inflated price-tag that comes with them. I still believe that we have money to spend, but I think we need to make sure the wages are kept down, so we'll make sure players are off the wage bill before we bring in more. Would you prefer Fletcher for £13m or Carroll for £15m?

Right, so now we know it's not specifically a foreigner, and it's someone that a certain someone would be excited about us buying. Hmm... Who has this certain someone played alongside? When I saw him play for Burnley, I did think he was a decent player. Good with the ball at his feet and he appeared to read the game well. BUT! It's still a lot of money. It's always going to take a high offer to get him when Wolves have just paid a decent sum for him in the past few years. Much like when we had to pay Sunderland £20m+ to get Bent. I do think we could get a better striker for less (part of me would actually prefer Carroll for an extra few million on top) but if Lambert goes for him then I'll support the transfer. Also, it'll surely mean that we do have funds available!

Well I'm 5'10-5'11 and thin and the small fits me perfectly. I'd get that if I were you. I tried my mate's on and it was quite baggy, hmm, I might try one on in the shop and see what I think then.

I like the look of Carruthers, but Albrighton has had more than enough chances and still hasn't took them. He did 2 seasons ago. It was only last season when he, and all our players, were told to concentrate more on defending. If Lambert can get him to rediscover his form of 2 seasons ago, he'd be a good option (and a much better option than Danny flipping Rose!!)

I'd prefer us to give Albrighton or Carruthers a chance

I wish people would just ignore CI's posts if they don't like them. I'm more bored of reading childish, sarcastic responses to CI than I am of reading his daft posts. At least he's trying to contribute to the discussion, irrespective of how surreal his opinion may appear to be.
