    I don't know if I'll be getting any of the Macron tops. Not because I don't like them, because I do, but because I'm thin and the small adult top is super baggy on me. I don't fancy going to the villa in a nighty, but I also don't fancy buying a kids one. I wouldn't say I'm small either. I'm 5'9 (I'm guessing), but I'm just thin.

    fletcher isnt exactly old In a footballing career he isn't young. He's far away from being 19/20 (which, I'm guessing, was the age of Jones/ Smalling when they went to Man U). Do we think Andy Carroll would be worth £35m when he's 25, if all he has to his name is potential and a few seasons of scoring around 10 goals?

    So you think they should make a loss of nearly £7m?! Very harsh. Championship players are people too, you know? We're not saying we want him for free. He's goals kept him up one season so I'd say he has more than paid back the 7M they paid for him. Whoooooooosssshhhhh? :winkold:

    Part of me thinks £13m is way, wayyyyy too much for a player that hasn't really shone in the Premier League (irrespective of what team he played for), but then the other side makes me think about players like Chris Smalling and Phil Jones who played for averages sides, and have been snapped up for large fees. I suppose the main difference is that the latter two have age on their side, and can become much better players in time.

    Mark, Houllier's comments at a press conference were on AVTV. If you have access then go have a look. The online reports and BBC link would have been released the moment the OS said 'Villa sign Makoun', the press conference on AVTV would have been a day or so later. You may not have heard, but online reports are not always 100% accurate :winkold:

    I reckon Paul Lambert has got money to spend, but he's tricked people into thinking we have a 'sell to buy' policy. Collins was on his way out, the Vlaar deal was 99% complete, and then I reckon he chose to wait to sell Collins before Vlaar was brought in. Now other teams think we have no money, so when we come to buy someone, they wont try to get more and more money out of us.

    I backed up all my details over the weekend, did a factory reset and then loaded my contacts/etc back onto the phone. So far, the texting has actually been okay, but my phone still overheats quite a bit and, a few times in the past few days, it has just frozen completely. I might give Samsung/O2 a call if it persists.

    My S2 is doing my head in. I have a problem when recieving long text messages (the first half of the text will be normal, but then it will cut off the rest and the second half of the text will be from an old text that I've received :S), it keeps overheating and occasionally the screen goes black and I have to take the battery out to get it working again. GRRR

    I agree with you Shillzz, towards the end of the season he started to play much better. If it's true that he's willing to see out his last year, and we can't find any takers for his supposed 45k p/w wages, then I don't mind us sticking with him for one final season. When he was playing central midfield last year, I joked with my mates that McLeish had found his cheap Stan replacement. He did play pretty well, if not spectacular, in CM. I just hope he doesn't score too many headed own goals this season!

    Do we know that Makoun hasn't bothered learning the language? Or could the fact that he's not been given a squad number be because there are still problems with him coming back into the country and the club don't want to give him a squad number incase he ends up being sold?
