Never the most comfortable of players on the ball. Made too many mistakes this season although he’s not alone in that with our poor defence. Terry covered for him a lot last season. Hopefully we can get someone better in January.

Sooner have one of our younger players given game time than this guy. Simply past it. He’s a liability once put under pressure. A poor Bruce signing.

I was at the Cardiff game away in 1974. We were struggling in the lower reaches of the old second division. Saunders was still trying to get the team performing to his style. Only 60 odd villa fans on the “special” from New St. Took my 9 year old brother to his first away game. Cardiff fans waiting for us at the station. Pretty risky walk to Ninian Park. Had to make sure our nipper was okay. Terrible game, lost 3 1, Willie Anderson scored for Cardiff,just to make it worse. I turned to my brother and said “I don’t know where this clubs going kiddo”.....................we lost only one more game that season, 1 Nil on a mud pile at Leyton Orient. We destroyed everyone else to the end of the season, came within a hairbreadth of taking the top spot from Man Utd, and won the league cup to boot. My point is, if Smith can get this team performing, nothing is impossible. Incidentally the team we pipped to the promotion spot and the cup was Norwich City. Who currently sit top.

Let this report be this dreadful Governments epitaph. Truly shocking.

Gives his all, every game. That alone will endear him to most supporters. Never tries to hide. That said....he isn’t good enough, and will cost us goals.

If fans think this guy is worth a place in the team, then we really have lowered our sights. We need better or we stay in this division , simple as.

I don’t judge people on one game. I was referring to his form and displays over his total tenure at the club. In my opinion he simply isn’t good enough, and is a classic example of an older player denying our younger players a chance. I don’t have a grudge against him, I just think he was a very poor signing by Bruce

Not a very good player. Well past his best. Would rather see a younger player given a chance. One of Bruces worst signings.

His positioning is awful. Tries hard, but is simply too easy to get past. Needs replacing ASAP.

My point still stands. He can get good results early doors, but ultimately he bottles it and quits.

I honestly think most people in this country would now wish to remain in the EU, now that the awful prospect is in sight. The question now, is will those in power grant the British people the final say ,or does selfish personal interest and ambition override fairness and common sense. Unfortunately with the current shitshower in control, I fear it will. Hope I’m wrong, and reason prevails.

His record as a manager is of a man who starts well enough, gets a decent run of results together, but ultimately falls away and then jumps ship.

Stayed inside the stand. Took my seat after the minute was over. Wouldn’t disrespect a man now dead, but gave him as much thought as he gave the fans when alive. Too many bad memories of his tenure to do anymore.

The Tory plan to “encourage” people back to work through the benefits system, seems to be, make benefits so inadequate that it’s a work or suffer hunger choice. Caring Conservatism is more and more a contradiction in terms.

It’s a prerequisite to join the Tories isn’t it.

Pleased with this. He’s served his time. Now ready for a really big club. His teams always play attractive attacking football. May take time for his methods to deliver, but after the garbage that Bruce served us , I’m feeling optimistic again.?

With Bruce gone. A manager with a little more ambition should give this kid a chance.

Bruce wasn’t very good at finding keepers was he.

The only thing I ever saw him do was jump out of the dugout, nod his head at Bruce and then sit back down again. And that’s it.

Pleased Bruce has gone. Ecstatic that his so called coaches have gone with him. This guy, along with Clemence, was an absolute disaster.

Part of the worst coaching set up ever at VP. Good riddance.
