  1. I was replying to Genie, and that’s exactly what he was saying.
  2. I stand corrected on the date. But the point was made regarding top players coming from the lower leagues. Sterling was signed from the Championship.
  3. Price wasn’t the point being made. Quality players often start their rise from lower divisions.
  4. Liverpool signed him from QPR in 2012
  5. That’s actually peanuts in the Premiership.
  6. Smith will sign players to fit a style of play methinks. Jota is a sign that style will be fast moving and mobile. Sounds good. In Deano we trust.
  7. He might go back to Bristol City. Would be a good signing for them I think.
  8. Many of the top players in the Premiership started their careers in the lower leagues. Stirling, Vardy, Ali, to name but 3. John McGinn was in Scottish football and by no means a star. Lolley is definitely worth a punt.
  9. He’ll have no trouble getting another club. Thanks Tommy.
  10. When a player is as disliked and ridiculed as he was in his early years here, to turn that around and end his time here so liked and respected, is very rare. Thank you Alan.
  11. We needed some tough men when we found ourselves in the Championship. We found a man of granite in you. Thanks big man.
  12. I know it’s the Championship, but he’s always looked quality when I’ve seen him. Got a dynamite shot on him, and that works in any division
  13. I was replying to your idea that we develope players and sell them for a profit to the clubs we are trying to compete with. You don’t build a team by selling your best players to Man City. Do that and we’ve given up. Let us be the club taking their players.
  14. The Premier League will be delighted that one of the truly big clubs is back in the fold. They will not risk losing us, only to end up with another Bournemouth, Brighton or Burnley, no offence intended to those clubs.
  15. The day we sign players with the express purpose of selling them to another club for a profit. Is the day I walk away. We will never compete if we have that small time feeder club mentality. We are Aston Villa, the largest club in the Second City, the club that was the guiding light in founding the Football League, former Champions of Europe, let’s act like it.
  16. I’m a Labour member, have voted Labour all my life. First time ever voted for another Party in Euros. Single issue I know, but a bloody important one. Did it for my Grandkids. I don’t want Farages fantasy foisted on them. Regardless, if Labour lose votes from people like me, they are in trouble.
  17. Some fans will always be pricks. Sadly not much we can do to change that. We can be more careful about giving them the opportunity to show what pricks they are, by being more sensible about access routes around Wembley. Really hope someone shops them to the Old Bill. Name and shame the morons.
  18. Big clubs have open top buses when they win major trophies. And unlike the Small timers down the road we are a very big club. So no thanks.
  19. Just donated. Let’s show them were better than those morons who threw missiles at kids. Makes my blood boil.
  20. Got into the Hilton with some mates after the game. Team were there celebrating, awesome. Players came out to mix with the fans, Mings was in full kit.. Finally dragged ourselves out to catch train back to Brum. Looked to my left and saw Dean Smith , shook his hand and thanked him. Amazing end to a great day. Up the Villa
  21. Last time I felt this calm about a match was in Rotterdam in 82. I think we’ll do this.

    Tickets

Very much doubt it will make it to tomorrow
  23. Even more reason not to have Hutton anywhere near the team then.
