Ohare isn’t an out and out striker. He can play midfield, just behind the front men. His enthusiasm and movement alone would be a massive improvement on Whelan and Hourihane.

I honestly think some of our younger players such as Ohare and Doyle Hayes would be a better choice than some of these players.

More like this team are ignoring him. I think he will do better when he’s moved some of them out and put players more attuned to his style in.

He stops nothing at full back. If an opposition player is on the wing, you can virtually guarantee an easy delivery will be offered on a plate. That, or he will be totally skinned for pace. Too old too slow and simply not good enough. Should have been shipped out years ago.

If people were paid decent levels of pay and or benefits, there would be precious little “charity” needed. If Corbyn gets Labour back into power, I hope one of the first things he does is reempower the Union movement . Many of the problems that people face today date back to the emasculation of workers rights inflicted by the Tories in the 80’s. People need to regain the ability to improve their lot through their ability to fight back both individually but more especially collectively. The sense that ordinary people are powerless to positively improve their lot in life is one of our greatest challenges and needs to be confronted.

Never the most comfortable of players on the ball. Made too many mistakes this season although he’s not alone in that with our poor defence. Terry covered for him a lot last season. Hopefully we can get someone better in January.

Sooner have one of our younger players given game time than this guy. Simply past it. He’s a liability once put under pressure. A poor Bruce signing.

I was at the Cardiff game away in 1974. We were struggling in the lower reaches of the old second division. Saunders was still trying to get the team performing to his style. Only 60 odd villa fans on the “special” from New St. Took my 9 year old brother to his first away game. Cardiff fans waiting for us at the station. Pretty risky walk to Ninian Park. Had to make sure our nipper was okay. Terrible game, lost 3 1, Willie Anderson scored for Cardiff,just to make it worse. I turned to my brother and said “I don’t know where this clubs going kiddo”.....................we lost only one more game that season, 1 Nil on a mud pile at Leyton Orient. We destroyed everyone else to the end of the season, came within a hairbreadth of taking the top spot from Man Utd, and won the league cup to boot. My point is, if Smith can get this team performing, nothing is impossible. Incidentally the team we pipped to the promotion spot and the cup was Norwich City. Who currently sit top.

Gives his all, every game. That alone will endear him to most supporters. Never tries to hide. That said....he isn’t good enough, and will cost us goals.

If fans think this guy is worth a place in the team, then we really have lowered our sights. We need better or we stay in this division , simple as.

I don’t judge people on one game. I was referring to his form and displays over his total tenure at the club. In my opinion he simply isn’t good enough, and is a classic example of an older player denying our younger players a chance. I don’t have a grudge against him, I just think he was a very poor signing by Bruce

Not a very good player. Well past his best. Would rather see a younger player given a chance. One of Bruces worst signings.
