  1. Ross McScoremack! I'm all for it. Proven at this level for many seasons now and dying for a chance in the Premier League. Hopefully he can fire us there.
  2. Have they even scouted him? Or any of their signings for that matter. A strange one this, but won't be a huge loss for us. A shame he never progressed as we hoped he would.
  3. I think Xia is getting a crash course in how polar opposite football fans can be, but also needs to see that Villa and the fans are at a massive crossroads and at this moment in time are fragile. A win Sunday, and a couple of 'big' needed signings and a lot of the doubters will turn, but a defeat and no signings for a couple of weeks and the pressure will really be on him. It seems to me that he is allowing Wyness, RDM and co to get on with their jobs, and it's not Xia not spending, it's more the 'experts' biding their time. RDM has commented that the team needs adding to, and not dismantling in a piece i saw in the Brum Mail today, and i agree. There was a great deal of optimism last summer, and those players added to with leaders and characters with grit, that'll not disappear when going 1-0 down, will make a world of difference. We've seen flashes of quality from Ayew, Veretout, Gueye, Adama and others, and we just need the glue to bring it all together on the pitch (granted Gana is on his way). That's not down to Xia, that's down to RDM, and Xia is letting him assess and do what he needs to do. I'm fully behind him as it stands, and take some entertainment from his tweets, it's way too early to judge. There have been some positives to date, by employing proven coaching staff and a manager, alongside a proven CEO. The Technical Director appointment will be an interesting signal for me.
  4. Sounds like someone has been banging some money down, not sure how much or significant it would need to be to cause the shift like that. it'll be betting suspended meltdown soon...
  5. On the very same day RDM says nobody else has a clause and we won't lose anyone we want to keep. Added to the fact he also said Ciaran is a Villa lad and has committed to staying with us. Can't see it, but will stand corrected. I'd rather Richards and Lescott head for the exit first, but I imagine he's 4th choice behind Elphick, Baker and Okore.
  6. He has the obligatory Villa tie on, sure fire sign he's one of us!
  7. I'll get my coat... Sorry for any offence caused!
  8. This calls for a golden handshake.
  9. Looks like Rahman is heading to Schalke on loan from Chelsea, signalling that Conte has made some decisions. Maybe we will see some movement on the Bamford front this week, if RDM wants him.
  10. Hallelujah! Where's the footage from?
  11. I wonder if they fancy Gabby with all his Premier League 'experience' too? They're light on numbers with injuries so chuck in Richards and Lescott for them. They might go for it to fill out their squad! Plus apparently their owners are as tight as a ducks arse.
  12. I originally read that as flacid, which is also quite apt...
  13. I think we need an injection with a new signing, if not from a playing point of view, but from a fan point of view. A good spend on a striker this week and the whole outlook of the majority of the fanbase changes. It seems a lot of people are getting a little antsy. IMO we will have a fine season and be there or thereabouts.
  14. Alan Nixon thinks we're in for Kodjia for £10m but Bristol City want £13m. Just pay it and get him in!
  15. Now I know training numbers are different to squad numbers, but he had number 10 on the training gear. Also, if I remember correctly, he wore number 10 on his debut in a friendly last season. Then the Adebayor deal nearly happened and he had 19, not 10. Got me thinking maybe he'll pick up the number 10 this season. Just a random observation. About time we had a decent player in the number 10 and/or number 9 for that matter.
  16. I think he typifies the whole Moneyball approach taken by the club last summer. Stat wise he looks fantastic, second only to Kante who's just been sold for £30m or so. The stark reality is that he never imposed himself in a game or helped us control a midfield battle.
  17. Goodbye Baby Brad. No goal for you turned into plenty of goals for you unfortunately.
  18. I hope there comes a point when if they've not shifted the tat, where they go, sod it let's sign some players! I don't fancy playing the whole season with Lescott and Richards still knocking about.
  19. No great loss for me. I'd rather keep Veretout as he can pass a ball. Tshibola looks like he is more than capable of filling Gana's shoes. Added that Gary Gardner is knocking about too, I can't see us missing him.
  20. I wonder if Allardyce fancies signing him up just for England... There could be a first for everything I guess. Might suit Richards playing once every 3 months.
