  1. I am going to admit, i'd given up on Lambert last season, but am happy to give him till christmas to see where we are, and what is going on. If the quality of football improves and we look more solid with a few home wins, that'd be progress for me.
  2. A cheeky bid for Bernard might work. Cheeky indeed! Or a loan? The foreign players in the Ukraine seem very keen to leave ASAP.
  3. Diame had a good first few months when he signed for West Ham, since them he's been pretty crap. Like he was at Wigan. Got quite a few WH friends and they don't really rate him, very inconsistent. Also if he was up to scratch, they wouldn't have signed Kouyate to do his job in the team. This. He is not all that, fans who have barely watched him often state he is, but all the Hammer's I know, say he isn't worth his weekly wage.
  4. I often feel, when reading comments, that some only ever watch MOTD. What has Diame ever done to tell us he'd be a better option than a much younger Cleverley? He's also on much higher wages.
  5. Sandro and Song will be on astronomical wages, cleverley is not. Plus, both are loans, cleverley is not.
  6. Give him a new 4 year deal, whatever it takes.
  7. Whats with the Holtby love? A man who has done less in the Premier League than the 'awful' Cleverley. Cleverley and a wide forward on loan for me please.
  8. He conducted himself brilliantly whilst being treated like the biggest problem at the club. He's come back in and been superb. If he is still showing this quality at christmas, i'd offer him a new two year deal. He is a big upgrade on right back solutions last season.
  9. If we can get rid, and replace with a player like Cleverley, i'd be happy. Nice lad, wish him well.
  10. For me, westwood is a decent squad player, but that's it.
  11. As an out and out winger, he has the odd decent game. Not worth 50k a week, and unless he is willing to take a massive pay cut, i'd cut my losses....
  12. The sooner he is back the better; for Villa and my fantasy team.
  13. I really don't understand this massive criticism of Tom Cleverley. He burst onto the scene after a loan spell at Wigan where Martinez rated him so highly, he has tried to sign him every window since. SAF wouldn't allow him back out on loan the following season as he saw something in him. Roy Hodgson had him as a staple of his England side for almost two years. He's had a bad spell, like most of the rest of the United players, they have turned into a mid-table premier league club overnight. Doesn't make him a bad player IMO and the fact that a manager who has worked with him in Martinez wants him back, for me, speaks volumes. £8m for an England international, who is 24 years old, is great value in this market, and believe he has alot more to offer. However, I don't think he will come to us, as, he has better offers on the table.
  14. It's hard to compare apples with apples when it's only a handful of games. I know AM had one of the easiest draws in the first 7 games but there are tough games coming. I have no idea what MON's first 25 games was like. Show me the comparison after a full season - then I'll take note. Thing is its very difficult to compare across seasons but MoN got 5 more wins between now and end of season. Do we really expect to see AmC having won 11 games at end of season? For me 8 at best.
  15. Wigan are a strange team though. Can be great or awful. They haven't been great recently even though they won at weekend, so I wouldn't be surprised to see Wigan getting a draw or even snatching a win at home. Blackburn are another Jekyll and Hyde team as are Bolton, so I don't see how people can confidently predict wins.
  16. CI we should have won home games earlier in season and didn't. Have no faith in us winning more than 1 of next four and two draws giving us only5 points before a very difficult run of games. 5 points would not be enough.
  17. Thing is though CI, MoN then went on a decent run. Also don't think you can compare seasons in that way, league is much weaker now than it was when MoN arrived. With a bit of attacking intent, anyone can beat anyone else!
  18. Lescotts goal was his error? Unbelievable! Some people don't watch games I'm sure! Collins completely lost his man! I haven't seen cuellar be at fault for a goal for a while!
  19. If we don't get 7 points from next 4 games we could be in trouble. We are not too good to go down.
  20. A quick one on holt - had many discussions with him on twitter and he really isn't that bad and you have a good discussion with him. On McLeish - he simply is underperforming. Don't want to rake over the reasons as they have been laid bare here, but for the same reason Mick was sacked, McLeish should be. Lambert and Rodgers. Play attractive attacking football, without star names and are much higher up table. Mick had worst home record in 15 1/2 years, McLeish's is worse than that. As Damian on VillaBlog points out, he is a 1 in 4 manager. 6 in 24 is not good enough, whatever the target set by the board.
  21. I voted no because I think he should be doing much better with the squad he has available that could be achieved with a change in mentality.
  22. People take the piss but i like your positivity SGC
  23. we need to show him love, stick him on a 6 year contract and build the team round him.
  24. Id like to see by the end of the season: Given, Lichaj, Clark, Dunne, Baker, Herd, Delph, Bannan, Albrighton, N'Zogbia, Bent. With a bench of: Siegrist, Lowry, Grealish, Burke, Gardner, Delfounesso, Weimann.
  25. Allback on the Swedish bench tonight - get him in with Laursen, Nillis, Dublin etc. to work with our players or to scout.
