  1. Lambert has regressed the players and style of play in just under 2 years as manager. He had a spell towards end of first season where things seemed to click, Benteke was on fire and the team looked half decent and scored goals, since then it's been utter dross served up week after week with a few lucky wins against the 'big teams'. The fact that we sit back against teams even like QPR says alot to me.
  2. Westwood doesn't impose himself on enough games. A tidy footballer, but playing above his level.
  3. Maybe Keane is just biding his time until the job he wants is free...
  4. For me, Cleverley is an upgrade on Westwood and we should, when all fit be playing Delph, Cleverley and Sanchez. However, for £8m with 6 months left on his contract, when he wasn't keen on being here anyway, I'd say no, and put that money into a proper No.10.
  5. As frustrated as we all are by the style of play, the 'fixed' first XI and the disappointing performances; Lambert is going nowhere.
  6. I think at this stage any manager worth his salt will look at the situation and think again. Moyes, Pulis etc. will be looking at a more stable and attractive proposition, unless Randy is deciding to stick around and invest. Most likely for me would be Roy Keane, but this is just all ifs and buts as Randy will not sack Lambert less than 2 months after a brand new 4 year contract.
  7. Any points against arsenal are a bonus so... I agree.
  8. To do as well as we did then was something with so many players being ill.
  9. Sanchez will take time to adapt - lets not write him off before a month surely?
  10. Had all players been fit and not ill today it would have been different. Just one of 'those' games, against a side we wouldn't expect anything from. Not end of the world.
  11. Makes me wonder about Okore when Clark gets a start ahead of him.

  13. Maybe if the manager was given a decent budget to work with more of his targets would have become players we could sign. We are in a period where books are just about balanced, do we want to risk our future again? For the likes of Heskey, Davies etc the MoN signed? Why would giving the manager decent money to spend be risking our future, Unless you have no faith in lambert signing anyone decent Is it risking our future if we spend beyond our means. We've spent £8 million Have we spent that much?
  14. I'd rather we kept our wick dry if the players that the manager wants are not available. We've strengthened the squad earlier in the summer, and with Hutton, N'Zogbia, Given and Bent back in thats more experience we had been lacking. With Senderos, Sanchez, Cole and Richardson whilst holding onto Vlaar and Delph - there is rightly a buzz arounf VP for the first time in ages. Fair play to Lambert for doing so, in what is clearly, a difficult time. Plus, the £8m seems to have come very late in the window - not sure it is all Lambert's fault if it goes unspent.

  16. I don't believe there was any intention to 'mislead' or its a 'PR stunt'. I just believe that Lambert wanted Cleverley and had an eye on Canales. He's bid for both, Canales wants to stay in Spain and Cleverley clearly messed us around. Why would we wait until 8/9pm on deadline day to pull out if there was never any chance? This has been going on for days, he has et Lambert/Keane etc. I believe his agent thought he could get a better deal elsewhere/next summer.

  18. Surely if the deals the manager wants aren't available, we shouldn't just sign someone for sake of it?
  19. confirmed that we have walked away.
  20. I'd be very surprised if he has asked for £80k a week. He's talking to Villa not an oil rich club, think he'd realise that. He's only on a £30k basic at United.
  21. Has it really been that bad? Compared to the last few? No. Compared to most other teams spending the increased tv money? Yes. We will be one of the lowest spending teams in the league if we sign no one else this year. If clubs want to spend £12m on Long £8m on Livermore, £10m on Forster then good luck to them. Well it's helped most clubs finish above us the last few years. I don't think it is sustainable though. Neither is spending peanuts and fighting relegation every year. At least were solvent again you can build off this everyone has been saying it for years but this. Can't go on. I've been watching SSN all day and the amount if times they have mentioned the squad places available and FFP would have made a decent drinking game as it has been taking some effect with clubs having to balance a bit that is only going to become more of a recurring theme Aren't United having to comply with this?!
  22. where's the link/source for this 80k speculation?
  23. If he leaves on a permanent deal he misses out on a lucrative contract when free next summer. United won't let him out on loan as they lose a significant transfer fee. Bit of a tricky situation.
  24. United won't let him leave on loan unless there is a big loan fee.
  25. Yeah, let's sell Benteke and Kozak now shall we? Where has that been suggested? Both are out for a while longer, i just suggested we try to get best out of Bent....
