I am glad you said a *few* - because I think this becoming a villa myth - ie we have a load of players on the payroll earning megabucks.....In my opionion we have Bent - reportedly £65k per week - and worth every penny Gabby - ditto bent Heskey - between 50-65k - not worth it Ireland - 50-65k - no justifying it Beye - 50k - nuff said maybe petrov as well - the figures don't matter to much - but basically we have ireland and Beye on big wages who aren't making the team. Big though there wages are - taking them off the payroll won't be a financial new dawn for us. I agree but £150-200k per week to spend on wages could mean 4,5 or 6 players if spent correctly or allowing us to increase salaries of some players we have already to keep them at the club. Going abroad, picking up players for £5-6m on £30k a week is definitely the model they want to follow.

Darren Bents movement is incredible, but his finishing is good, nothing better. Hence why he will never be 'top' class but will always score goals because he creates chances for himself with his movement. He will never do much else but score - but thats what a striker is there for. However, if we could put Heskey and Bent together, we would have the best striker in the world!

Heskey for all his flaws has been no means our worst player this year and has worked very hard. I find it very frustrating to see him in the hole, but im sure he does too, and i blame AMc for that. Gardner will get a chance, but why just throw him in, ease him in gradually when the team is winning surely? 20-30 mins here and then and build it up? Even the best youngsters dont just get thrown in, they are slowly fed into the side.

We need to remove a few more high earners - i think it will be more of a Newcastle model!

Zoggy looked good but share same concerns as others, total lack of service to Bent in pre-season.

We would have a much more dynamic midfield.I think Parker could play with any of the other central midfielders and be a fantastic captain and role-model for the youngsters. However, I dont think the board will sanction a £7m+ fee and £70,000 a week wages for a 30 year old.

Nice guy, decent captain but shouldnt be near the first team IMO. I think he'll be a good coach but he is having less and less of an impact upon games and needs replacing. He was slow at best of times, but his brand of sideways/backwards passing slows us down. He should be on the bench at most this year.

For the first time im considering having the 'hero printing' on my shirt and if i do it'll be zoggy. Think he is a really exciting signing, reminds me of Young in the way he plays.

Id much rather see the youth be our squad players on low wages and improving them than signing the likes of Harewood, Routledge, Beye etc. Means we can spend more on our first XI.

N'Zogbia is more like ash and is a match winner, whereas downing is consistent but wouldn't be termed as a player who is a match winner!

Downing once pace setting? Or one? He has a burst over a yard but not exactly explosive, any decent full back sticks close and doesn't give him space. With Carroll on deaths door for most of season, his crosses won't mean much. Also Gerrard crocker, Adam barely moves, they aren't gonna have a pacey midfield are they? We are better off rid and get N'zog for half the price would be fantastic!

Charlie plays like ash and is a match winner, not saying he is as good but a similar style. Vargas is like downing, but is more than an average footballer with one pace setting who can cross. Vargas started as a left back too so if needed we could fit albrighton, Charlie and juan in the same team. I say get it done. Along with Parker, given, Hutton and a striker I think we'd all be delighted.

Downing won player of the season but is not a match winner, Ashley young is. Downing is not worth even close to £20m, and as such we got a lot of money which we can invest in better.

I am glad to see the back of the useless t**t. £20m? he was overpriced at £12m. Will be glad to see a cheaper Charlie N'Zog take his place with Albri on the other wing. If we can get Given, Charlie and Scotty for what we sold the turncoat for i'll be happy.
