I agree about Stones' form but o just think Cahill is far too slow at international. When he has Terry next to him, whilst also slow they can sit back and Terry will direct him where to go. For England he gets exposed too often and doesn't have the partner to cover him.

@V01 Who else would you play? It was a toss up between him and Milner. Now however much I like Milner, and he has been on good form recently, he's never really impressed that much for England imo. Henderson is awful, as is lallana.

My starting team against Wales and Russia: Hart Clyne Stones Smalling Bertrand Dier Wilshire Ali Rooney Kane Vardy However, I still think RH will chicken out of playing 442 and go: hart Walker Smalling Cahill Rose Dier Wilshire Rooney Ali Vardy Kane Whilst the players are the same the difference in where Vardy will start will be pivotal.

Really wish we'd taken the same approach as Wales and not had many games. Some players in the squad have already played over 50 games this season. For this I'd give Forster another start,play first choice defence (another game to get used to each other), then the none starters against Russia in midfield and attack.

£8m on Pritchard seems ludicrous.. I've never seen him play, but is he any better than say Gardner or Grealish? He hasn't managed to break into a prem side on a regular basis. I think sometimes people just want to buy these players from a good side without even seeing them play. Id also agree that we won't be spending £8m on a midfielder, and we'll be lucky if do on a striker. You could easily argue we need 10 new players, as such I'd say majority will be 3-5m bracket.

I agree with the comments above, football is evolving now and it's very rare any manager stays a long time. However, as long as we have a club philosophy, you can easily move onto the next manager. Look at the likes of Southampton and Swansea, they have replaced their managers who can build on what is already there, they are constantly rebuilding a philosophy/style...under Lerner that is all we have done. Mon- Houllier different Houllier- McL different McL - Lambert different, Lambert - Sherwood different Sherwood - Garde different. You get the picture. Managers these days don't have long shelf life's at clubs.

Too be honest, drinkwater hasn't impressed at international level on my eyes so can see why he isn't picked.
