This forum never ceases to amaze me. Reading this and other threads you'd think that people want us to fail so that it can fit their agenda. Yes RdM hasn't worked out and Xia has to take some blame for that, but as others have said it wasn't a haphazard appointment, RdM had a good record from this division and lower divisions and had won a top trophy. Not only that, but he has been given an assistant manager who has a great reputation in the game and has been backed very well financially. Xia is still learning the game and how to run a football club, but I'm happy with the start he has made and hopefully the progression we'll make under him.

Whilst I'm not against Wagner, he would be a serious risk, especially without a pre season. Let's not forget, when we played Huddersfield, we should've been 4-0 at half time, they didn't look so organised then

It would work eventually, but he probably wouldn't get the best going until after a pre season. Look at Klopp last season, very hit and miss. This season they look fitter and more drilled.

The owner, the board and the technical director need to make sure that this is absolutely the right appointment. We can't get to a position where after the next 11 games we are looking to replace another manager.

RdM had never worked with Clarke as his assistant before

Whoever comes in needs their full back room staff, we can't go down the line again of not getting their full team in. It makes a massive difference

How is he a shocking manager? Did really well at Brentford, got Rangers promoted. Has been involved with youth football, set up the next gen tournament.

Probably not, but no harm in being ambitious. You point out to him the ceiling of villas potential compared to Burnley, you offer him a good wage and the promise of money to make signings in January, you get one of his best mates (Ian Taylor) to constantly big him about villa, and maybe, maybe, he gets his arm twisted

Said it before but Sean Dyche. Hes managed to get Burnley playing decent football, promoted to the prem twice. Yes they got relegated, but this is Burnley we're talking about, they aren't expected to even be in the top flight. That job has hit a ceiling and eventually he'll want to step up, we should make sure it's for us. Yes it would be a step down initially, but the ceiling is higher at Vila. Has Ian Taylor still got a role at us, as he is mates with Dyche.

Haven't seen today's first half but the stats and score show it all..I saw that starting line up and knew we'd lose. Wasn't my choice in the summer, but thought with a good assistant in Clarke he would do ok. Despite not winning, performances up to the forest game were pretty good and I expected us to push on from there. However, since then we appear to be getting worse and worse, with no clue how to play. Has to go now!
