  1. Even though he may not really be up to Premier League standards, surely he's too good for the A-League? Can't believe a decent Championship side hasn't come in for him. Would be a fairly major star back in Australia, I suppose?
  2. Makienok is like 6'7" and just 22. Can't believe we didn't go in for him so we could play him with Benteke, Kozak and Helenius every match. I guess 'cause we sold Bannan and Collins and Albrighton hasn't been in the side, we wouldn't have enough world class crossers and hoofers, so he's hedged his bets and is only gonna go with three of 'em.
  3. And strength I think Yep, and 16 dirtiness!
  4. Fear may not be exactly the right word. More like a type of nerves or mental "block", perhaps. Coming into games, I often get the feeling that they think they have to react to the opposition more than try to take control of the game themselves, that we HAVE to be the proverbial "counterattacking side", which puts us on the back foot from the off (why people insist that a good counterattacking side can't control a game in its own way just as easily as any other type of team, I'll never understand). As the game goes on, they start putting things together and we create spells of dominance regularly (see most of our second halves!). Once the team realizes they can be proactive from the first minute against many (if not all) opponents, we should stop leaking those early goals.
  5. We aren't buying Ronaldinho. Doesn't fit with PL's plan, etc...
  6. Very strong in the air. Perhaps we'll be bringing in somebody who can put it on his head from corners and free kicks, too? Would also be good to have as another big, powerful central striker who can maybe push Benteke a little.
  7. It's always the likes of Espanyol & Sociedad that come in for him on my saves. I'm always amazed they can pay his wages. He usually never does anything there, either.
  8. A6 is too big? How tiny are parking spaces over there? My father had an A4 for a while (moved it on when gas prices started going nuts; everyone in the family still misses it), driver/passenger space was great but the back was somewhat cramped with a full car (though we're mostly quite tall).
  9. It's punishment for using the term "y'all". If that bugs you, never visit where I live. You might even hear a "y'uns" or ten.
  10. Can't find the full move anywhere. Surely someone has it!
  11. Ajax must really be having some cash problems if they're willing to let Eriksen and Fischer go for the prices rumored.
  12. What's the problem with a loan? Given the way we seem to be doing things, any deal would surely include an option to buy, and 400k isn't a major financial hit for a PL club should the player not work out.
  13. Ba would be a good investment, methinks. 6'6" and strong in the air is an option we could certainly stand to have, especially since Baker injures himself every game or two.
  14. If it's true, the whole bloody football internet will melt down.
  15. 8m Euro would be a pretty incredible piece of business for him, frankly, almost to the point where it'd make me suspicious as to why they'd let him go for that. They paid over a mil for him as a 16yo.
  16. Attention, all. Fabian Delph is not particularly like Lionel Messi. He doesn't even play the same position, nor is his hair similar in the slightest. Thank you for your cooperation in clearing up this difficult and confusing issue.
  17. I don't think we'll be spending 20m on anyone for a loooooooooong time. I mentioned in the Other Football transfer thread, Sigurdsson might be worth investigation if Spurs keep buying players to fill the Bayul hole this week. He'll surely be pushed out of the middle by Paulinho and Dembele in the majority of games (those in which the opposition isn't expected to go full Liverpool and park it), then there's Chadli, Lennon, Holtby to compete for the more attacking and wide roles plus Townsend and Carroll who seem to be rated (if they don't go out on loan), doubleplus any of the other inevitable signings to come. 23, technically homegrown, I believe, can take a set piece, can pass, used to the league so could slot straight in, *might* not be terribly expensive in a few days.
  18. Looked just as bad as the rest of 'em in the first half. Nervy, head down too much and/or doesn't know his teammates well enough yet, received the ball and passed into space several times in anticipation of movement from somebody, but given how static we were then, nothing was ever actually on so just amounted to giving the ball away cheaply.
  19. Watching the Judge Dredd rewhatever. Can't stop laughing. It's every bit as funny as the Sly version.
  20. As were the Bloodshield, Effigy Shield and Black Iron Greatshield. Can't believe the stupid **** "Marcus Shield" made it. Well, I can, because Youtube fanbois are idiots, but still...
  21. I'd be surprised and delighted if it were Fischer we're after, but, having said that, I don't think he'd be *quite* ready to start in the PL consistently, and he's really more of a winger/wide forward than a #10. Someone 2-4 years older, more developed as a dedicated central playmaker who could drop straight into the side is where we have to be looking. We have to use the ball more intelligently in the middle of the park. Delph and co get out of the center circle and the only thing we can do is go wide, trying to find Gabby or Andi to get behind the fullbacks, or wait for Benteke to show for the ball, which means he either has to come deep or has to turn his back to goal and look to lay it off, but since our current midfielders almost never follow up with runs in the attacking third, he's also stuck looking for Gabby or Andi or just trying to do everything himself, which, obviously, will only work occasionally.
