  1. No one said the manager was blameless but on the park you as a player have to give your all and that includes tracking your player, putting a shift in and coming off exhausted. We do not have that spirit in this group and it is just not a few players, the agenda against the manager totally lets these players of the hook and whoever is the next manager is stuck with the same problem. The game has changed and its about powerful runners now not stargazers and pretty players for 50 minutes and believing smith could have done a better job.
  2. Maybe the tottenham players were just better players that could react to what was being asked of them and fitter to last more than 70 mins. When you let players run the club only mayhem rules as they all want different things .
  3. Totally overrated squad, how many 70 min players do we have, where is the fighting spirit, where is the press. Most of the players roll over, heads on the floor as soon as an athletic opposition come near them. Gerrard is to blame for the system and substitutions but once they go out on the park they should all put a shift in. We are on the floor but the 12th man is no where to be seen when they are needed, we can all throw stone's and blame but the villa need a response from the players not a 90 minute sulk.
  4. What stood out for me last night was how poor our squad is, when ashley young at 95 years old and a lucky douglas louis can shine a little brighter we really are scraping the barrel. This sqaud is full of to many simular players who play for themselves and not the team, that is what the arguments are about between players for not covering fullbacks, trying to beat that extra man and not playing the simple ball. We have a hard road ahead but for me players need changing and only new players will change things .
  5. Men V boys, we are way to open, easy to attack and a total lack of spirit who look like a championship side out of their depth. The players are no match for todays athletic tall strong powerful opposition that just ease them of the ball. Gerrard needs to stop the system he is trying to play and get people in to shore up our lack of aggression and character.
  6. Great to see Buendia come on and steal the show, but we all know he could not do that for 90 minutes and using the one half for one and the other for Buendia to shine worked well. The defence is still a worry and to me three at the back would solve this by taking up the room and stopping the two from leaving their positions to leave gaps from where they came. We have to enjoy a win no matter how hard it was or you just start to look like a bluenose.
  7. We are a team that has to play three at the back, the ability and professionalism is just not there in these players, therefore the only way to fill the gaps is extra bodies in defence. The lack of spirit and fight seems to be someone else's problem to this bunch and trying to play like Liverpool with a b class outfit only ends in defeat, we have to change the thinking at villa and get some robust players that cannot be bullied so easily and willing to lie down rather than bite back. The lack of height left an open door that Moore netted probably his only goal of the season, we can play as much pretty football for the stats as we like, but stats do not put the ball in the net. Wake up villa we need to get some grit in our play.
  8. We gave them a game, as a villa fan its all we demand and can see a future going forward with that passion and work rate finally rearing its head. The loss still hurts but we have travelled a long road to being able to compete and Gerrard is pointing us in the right direction, he was fuming at the decisions that went against us and that shows where his mind is right now. Keep the effort going to the season closes and we can look forward to a brighter season coming.
  9. I just like the Villa.
  10. Stevie Gerrard is learning a great deal about his players now being out of their comfort zone and the mental strength it takes to keep battling in tough times for the team. It is better to address this now from a relatively safe position rather than let it drag into the new season and prepare us for a pre season with the personal he wants and fits his view of the type of style and commitment he desires.
  11. Where is the fighting spirit in our team, where is the leadership when we are under the gun, we need a Tommy Shelby Resurrection from some of the players for next week and at least sweat blood.
  12. Wolves players turned up we were a week behind.
  13. Wolves looked ready for work, we were looking for deckchairs. What would we give for a leader, we are to nice and accepting.

    Paul McGrath

Paul McGrath never moved attackers came to him. Genius of a footballer who knew where to be. Jesus walked on water, God walked to the right position.
  15. Still at the Race's booking their holidays, no fight, no leadership and no direction.
  16. No nonsense forward who put the ball, the defender and the keeper in the back of the net. RIP big man.
  17. McGinn and luiz have struggled far too long in that midfield and will until we get that general in there.
  18. We are looking like a team that knows what it is about.
  19. He wasn't happy on the big bucks and made the move to enhance his football, here's hoping.
  20. McGinn makes my team any day but we have to make sure he is fit and firing on all cylinders.
