  1. I regularly go to matches at the Tigers stadium, and those of you that know there is quite an old stand where half of it is standing. It's a great asset and the atmosphere in the Crumbie is half of what makes the whole Welford Road experience second to none in the Guinness premiership. If done to look modern and appealing, this standing area could generate quite a buzz I reckon.
  2. Well I imagine the overhead would be very high. For instance we would have to either build or acquire a manufacturing facility and hire a staff. Probably not the most efficient way to go. We wouldn't need to own any factories etc, in fact I am pretty sure many of the large firms, such as nike, are footloose and are simply design companies, they don't actually own any factories. I'd imagine if we got a decent design team together that would be the only significant cost as all of the manufacturing could be contracted to a factory in a developing nation such as India or Thailand. Distribution isn't a massive issue.
  3. I think we're missing a trick, forget Speedo, that was a suggestion. I have a revolution for you all now ha! If we get a sports maker to do them, they will be worn during sporting practices. Buuuutttttt... if we get TopMan to do them we will crack the casual clothing market as well. The market is way huger and would generate more profit! Flawless!
  4. I've been very much a supporter of Warnock since he's been at the club. But yesterday made me think differently completely. Whilst he possess some attacking flair, his inability to defend even against low level opposition is poor. He was caught too many times yesterday and Bristols winger was tearing him apart a lot.
  5. I simply don't understand why you would own a football club if you didn't want to win everyone game you play. Clearly owning a football club isn't a savvy investment. It's pretty much a guaranteed money swallower. I'm starting to wonder why Randy still wants to own a club that he dosen't love.
  6. Surely we are not playing 5 at the back? Or is clark a holding midfielder?
  7. So yu are leaving it a day to reply every time she replies. Good luck! I've heard of playing it cool, and not biting her hand off, but your tactics are wheyyy offff
  8. 9 million and 500k. Commonly known as, DEAL! ...hopefully
  9. I wonder how large the fan base is in total (roughly of course), and to what corners of the earth it stretches too
  10. General, what is your opinion on how Downing handled leaving the club? Especially with regards to him mentioning us very little in interviews post deal.
  11. I never thought I would say this, but times are desperate. I know believe the best sort of deals we can do are to pick out the left overs from all the money bag clubs. This means the same sort of signings as the Given deal. Adam Johnson (8m) Joleon Lescott (6m) Nedum Onuoha (5m) Jonny Evans (7m) Tomáš Rosický (12m) Before I get my head bitten off, yes i know the wages may be a little higher, but if we put in a few offers, test the men who say they want to 'jus tplay football', instead of sit on the bench, we may get a bit of luck.
  12. In the space of about 3 weeks, we have no midfield ...we need signings quick! I think i feel a panic coming along
  13. Ancelotti - No Benitez - No Martinez ffs - No Moyes - No Hughes - seemingly wants top 4/6 your right, our options are amazing, bring on Billy Davies and Chris Hughton! Flores, Rijkaard, Van Gaal.... Oh that's right, they were limiting themselves to Premier League experience people and chose a guy who relegated a team twice in three seasons in the Premier League. Dumb ****. Even Hughton, Di Matteo would have better because they were sacked without a full season in the PL and showed potential. Actually, i have changed my mind, let's cause a massive uproar, throw eggs at the Holte End! **** it, let's try and get nobody to turn up to games. ...because that will really help Aston Villa FC in the long run! I will be the first to admit McLeish wasn't my first, second or third choice! But if he is the manager, it would benefit all parties to at least give the guy a chance

  15. Forget that AM is coming from Blues etc, I think we should all get behind him regardless..and here's why... 1) He has won a trophy in the last year, something which Arsen Wenger cannot say. 2) He is proven and tbh, he got blues relegated because they are shite and built on wank owners. BUT 3) More importantly, we are in an awkward position at the moment, our options aren't great, and we could be faced with scenario of four different managers in four seasons if AM isn't given support. He is a good manager, and a decent, honest man. I for one, won't hold it against Lerner for trying to appoint the best manager of a bad bunch left, given that everyone else seemingly sees Villa as undesirable. 4) Let's be honest, all the stuff on SSN is making us look a bit shit, which is the last thing the club needs when we are trying to attract high flyers!
  16. can anybody link me up with a betting website offering McLeish not to be the next manager?
  17. As Mr Thomas Aquinas said, actuality is better than potential. Martinez may well be a very good and developing manager, but he is a bit of a gamble. This season, we need a manager to settle the players, finish solidly in the top 8, and start to build a growth and top four challenge again. Sadly, i don't think Martinez is that man just yet.
  18. From http://tinyurl.com/6jhlntr Although 2009 and talking about American football,Randy said he would hire a "strong, serious, credible" general manager for the Browns. It begs the question that if he wanted to do that for them, he would want to do it for Villa too. IMO this rules out Martinez and McClown due to the 'credible' bit, and also throws the 'older' and more experienced managers such as Ancelotti and Benitez into the frame.
