  1. Brilliant performance tonight. More of that please Berty. That finish was beautiful.
  2. Easy game for him. Was very good though, distribution very good, and never looked in danger.
  3. Had a brilliant season. Was always good going forward, but he’s really solid defensively as well now.
  4. Eriksen is a definite no for me. I watch Inter every week as my Mrs supports them. He looks finished, and completely goes against our transfer policy.
  5. We need to get the ball to him in shooting positions more. Sounds simple, but we’ve not managed it recently. What he does do though, is drag the defenders out of position with his runs, which in turn gave Grealish, El Ghazi and Traore loads of space for shots. It’s not his fault they didn’t score any of them. My only gripe with him so far is his passing, but that will come. He’s had a very good start to a new league. I’d be tempted to see him and Traore switch positions in game occasionally, if we’re unable to score a goal like last night, just to get him in the game more, as he’d probably have more chances off the wing than up top.
  6. Ideal game for Konsa to be ill. Played very well, his distribution was poor, but we knew that was his limitation. Good squad player to have, but I wouldn’t fancy him covering if we were playing against a football team.
  7. Took a few minutes to warm up, but played very well. Very dependable.
  8. Such an odd feeling having such a great keeper. It’s almost boring to talk about him. Was honestly surprised how much we were dropping on a keeper given how close we thought Heaton was to coming back. I was wrong, clearly.
  9. No issue with this, no issue with the Barkley dinner. The only thing he has done recently which I’ve got an issue with is his drunk driving, which was shameful. Apart from that, fill your boots Jack.
  10. If anyone wanted to get one in time for Christmas, I’d order now. Bought one this morning and the expected delivery date was December 23rd.
  11. I am very confident that he will be terrible. Has no charisma and no intelligence.
  12. I will be very disappointed if we signed Lundstram. He’s bang average, and would end up being another Lansbury that would sit on the wage bill for years as we wouldn’t be able to shift him. We need to sign players who will either improve the team now, or younger players who have the potential to be better than what we have now. I didn’t think this in the summer, but I think central midfield is the most important position to fill right now. We have no quality coming off the bench there, and having good options there is the difference between coming top half and just above relegation zone. I’m not a scout, and have no idea who we should target, but a better version of Nakamba would be ideal, especially if he could pass as well.
  13. Unpopular opinion: He should’ve claimed the corner for the first goal. I love the guy, but if we’re being honest about all the performances, then this should be pointed out as well.
  14. The defence seems to be noticeably lower quality than the rest of the team. I’m very excited by that midfield trio though.
  15. Yeah let him stay there. Would be great if Solihull got promoted.
  16. Even if they do, if we win by more than one more than they do, we go top.
  17. Winks offers nothing. He can’t get in the Spurs team for a reason. Poor man’s Joe Allen.
  18. Came off after an hour. Could’ve been worse.
  19. He was actually a Villa fan I believe, but is a blue due to playing for so long in their youth system.
  20. Unfortunately for us, tomorrow night will be more important for McGinn than Saturday. I’ve no doubt he’ll play at least 75.
  21. Yeah agreed with all of the above. There are better, but no one else I’d rather have. He is Villa through and through, his family is Villa through and through - his great-great grandfather is the 9th highest Villa scorer. No other current legend at other clubs can argue that. I’d love him to stay for his whole career and then some.
  22. He can still reject the offer from Man City. So yeah, put that £10m towards his contract to encourage him to stay with us rather than sign back for them.
  23. He’s starting for Egypt in a few minutes, so he must still be negative.
  24. I don’t think we’ll do much. We’d need to shift Guilbert and El Ghazi to make space, and I’m not sure we’d be able to do that. Can’t see any other player in the squad being available, or likely no be sold at least (i.e. Engels and Hause). Lansbury, Elmo and Taylor being out of contract in the summer will make it easier for us to bring players in at least. January priority should be negotiating a fee for Barkley, anything below £30m would be good, anything more than that would need some serious thought.
