Quite right that it's not sustainable and is vaguely absurd; however, that is modern football. Seems a bit like entering a casino, losing an absolute fortune betting on bad hands etc, and then afterwards saying "You know, this whole gambling money to win money thing, it's really quite silly. We don't do that." Well you do, actually. You've thrown away crazy money on average players for years, and based on the most recent window, that's still more or less the transfer policy. That goes for both Toon and Villa, for the record.

Exactly. Makes no sense to me at all why they would do 3 designs and drop one at the behest of a handful of ""Tier 1"" supporters. There's no accounting for taste, and if people don't like what we end up with then you can guarantee a large vocal cross-section will say that we should've gone with a solitary lion...... Which may or may not be true, but now we'll never know if it would have been favoured by a majority or not. Daft process.

Thought he looked good insofar as he was involved tbh. Very composed receiving and dispatching the ball, hadn't much to do in a defensive capacity as they never troubled us in his time on the pitch.
