  1. I'd be waiting til we've won to do that.
  2. Jaysis. I'm an Irish Catholic and even I wouldn't go that low. RIP.
  3. Never gonna happen like that. If we win this, he will be seen as getting 4 points from a possible 6 when only 3 were really likely. That's all that will be assessed. NSWE aren't calling up Purslow and saying, "Yeah, but the football is shit......" And if they did, Purslow would point them to the bottom line, because Gerrard is his horse.
  4. Southgate would not come here and fans would make it known he wasn't welcome.
  5. Because you have to earn a place in the team? Sorry to say it but Douglas was rather gash last season, for the most part. Some games he was absolutely awful. Notwithstanding that he's not a #6 and everybody knows it, regardless, he was asked to do a job in a position where we needed help, and he was a huge liability there. When moved up the pitch he looked a little better, but even still he had a bad time and let us down. So... why wouldn't the manager have dropped him?
  6. The thing I find really ironic about Luiz wanting to join a bigger club is that when he actually plays well, which is never a given, we are a much better team. If he actually played every week like he has the last couple of performances, we'd stand a chance of being much higher in the table and being the bigger club he aspires play for. But this is often the way with this type of player / situation. Grealish wanted out just as we were looking to make a push for Europe, and looked good for it (unlike now). Barry and Milner both jumped ship for Citeh when we were pushing for Champions League football. For a team game, top tier football is such a "me" sport. Surely Luiz can see how good we could be if he (and others) played to his/their ability every week. Which obviously increases his chance of playing for Brazil, or in Europe, or whatever it is he's actually looking for.
  7. It will take some serious performances backed up by good results for him to 'turn this around' and thus get everyone back on side. But if he can do it, then fair play to him, he'll be a better manager than he has proven up til now.
  8. I've no reactions left today () but exactly my thinking.
  9. Anyway. Assuming Poch wouldn't be interested, it's Rodgers for me tbh. 2 year contract. I don't know why but I just have a feeling he'd be an excellent interim to get us back around the top 10.
  10. A very shit, and yet narrow, loss. The worst part is Gerrard sticking around after this, because you know the Chief Sycophantic Officer ain't sacking him.
  11. Some Magicians make the bird disappear. He does it with the ball.
  12. I think unlikely, tbh. Purslow will probably tell Stevie G a job well done - he managed to keep the deficit to 1 goal against the league leaders away from home. Now here's a 4m loan fee to pay Spurs for a year of Lucas Moura to mostly sit on our bench.
  13. Some of the loans we've sent out have been absolutely daft.
