  1. I'm not sure he was ever labelled too attacking...we have the second worst expected goals in the league and our attacking play is laboured and lifeless. The problem people complain about is his weird tactics leave us exposed at the back and in midfield while simultaneously offering nothing at all, not even a whiff, in attack—how it seems as if we actually have no idea how to attack in a way that can hurt a team. Watching us is dire. Luckily yesterday the youngest team in the league were also dire. We play football with the same cluelessness as we did under Bruce. I haven't felt as hopeless and unengaged about Villa since Bruce's disastrous last months. Please note that three of the teams that beat us, Palace, West Ham and Bournemouth, all have, I think, 4 wins between them in a combined 18 games. The teams they beat are second bottom, newly promoted Forest, and Villa, Villa, Villa. We are going nowhere, and Gerrard has no excuses.

It's not anti Tory hatred. It's just what happens when you've listened to Rees Mogg too much. The guy is a dick. I thank you for the video though because I was trying to find it. And yep, it's not cute! It's like seeing a little group of baby bedbugs.
  4. People have suggested Shang Chi and Doctor Strange 2, and Black Widow is enjoyable enough too. Of the TV Shows you haven't watched Hawkeye and Loki are both really good. I'd say they're maybe the best two TV shows. I thought they were both two of the best things in the whole MCU. Falcon and Winter Soldier is watchable, though it's a bit exposition-y especially at the beginning. It's passable, but some of the character changes are significant, and it introduces US Agent, who was a good character. She Hulk is good too, but it's a very different tone, very light...the episodes are short. Ms Marvel is also fine tbh, but it does get a bit cheesy and is aimed a bit younger. With those other films, for me I found Shang Chi a bit boring, Doctor Strange 2 suffers from stuffing too much in, especially at the beginning, but there are some memorable moments in it—and when the Raimi stuff kicks in, the film takes on a tone you rarely see in the MCU. Captain Marvel is pants and Eternals feels half hearted and is pretty dull. I haven't seen Thor yet. Edit: oh and Moon Knight is really bad imo.
  5. I'd say a fair number of people were put off the franchise by the awful last season or so of GOT. I'm sure there are plenty of others keen for more too, but surely the enthusiasm scale has suffered, which might make committing so much money to an expensive franchise less desirable. They've done it though. I'm not sure if I'll get round to watching it myself—I'm in that first catagory.
  6. Brazil are a bit better than we are to be fair!
  7. I'm completely fine with She Hulk and think the backlash is pretty pathetic...but they drop two of the biggest spoilers for The Sopranos in episode 4. I still have one more season to go in the Sopranos, and they pretty much say the ending, or at least one of the biggest things I didn't need to know. That's so out of order. She Hulk is by design pretty lite entertainment, and that was a terrible decision.

One positive is all the bad faith actors will now have to drop the phrase virtue signalling. Edit: not that I care, but it was always such a lame phrase.

It's a crazy concept for sure. I'd like to see a real fly on the wall un-sugar coated vision of what it's actually like. There will obviously be surprises and she did have downtime, and I wouldn't be surprised if there was more than we realise. But if course it's not like any old job and there would still be all sorts of formality around.

Is it though? This kind of thing just feels impossible. They obviously go about being treated like royalty everywhere they go, but they definitely also have loads of recreational time we don't see. The queen was meant to be riding her horses the other day. Harry was out on the lash in fancy dress. I remember Prince William came to a club when I was at uni and he was allowed to put on all of his own music. He basically took over the club (pics were in The Sun if you want to see). There are plenty of pics of Prince Andrew at parties, and he obviously hung out with Jeffrey Epstein on his private island. My point is we definitely only know a fraction of what they actually get up to, which goes for a lot of the aristocracy types. Now I've said all that, I think we should stop treating people like royalty. What century is this?
  11. Galatasaray definitely didn't sign him. They did sign Juan Mata and Milot Rashica though. What next for Sanson? Presumably he might have been out of the squads because he was about to move, but he's still here.
  12. I wrote a lot then and then realised this was a turkey joke!!
  13. So he's still here then? I think it's the Turkey transfer deadline.
  14. She employs the former Chief Executive of the TaxPayer's Alliance as financial advisor and then chooses to use public money to protect the profits of the energy companies. Who knew that group and the Tories were a bunch of hypocrites.
  15. I just saw this. So you're also moaning about the MCU phase 4 when you haven't seen it, to add to you moaning about Obi Wan when you haven't seen it. I don't want this to come across badly, so I want to say your posts on topic I genuinely think are often pretty spot on, and I'm really surprised you can't see how biased you seem and how odd it is because you haven't watched any of the shows and all because of someone else's opinion on YouTube, someone who is clearly a hard right wind up merchant. I hated Obi Wan, but when you say the whole show existed to create the Reva character it shows you didn't see it. And Marvel Phase 4 has a lot of good stuff, and a lot of it is stuff your YouTube commentators clearly also haven't watched. She Hulk and Ms Marvel are genuinely good shows—they're probably not aimed soley at 30-40 year old men, but that doesn't make them bad. Neither of them are Mary Sues, as I think you suggested in another post. They struggle with their powers, they have weaknesses. In fact, looking at Marvel Phase 4, of the 8 TV shows released so far, and the 6 films, I'd say there's only two real duds: Eternals and Moon Knight. If you actually watch a show like Hawkeye you'd realise that it's legitimately good, full of character and heart, and it really helps develop one character more than any other: Hawkeye. Same for Wandavision—it's loads of fun. Same for Loki, which is probably the best of all of them. The fact that there's a female Loki makes sense in the story, and she is a great addition. And still the main focus is Loki. Obi Wan—the main focus is on...Obi Wan and Anakin, not as your YouTuber suggested, the 'woke, minority character aimed at replacing the legacy characters' (I'm paraphrasing what you said). And the show is shit anyway—and not shit because, shock horror, they included a black female character. Sometimes I do think there's a bit of forced diversity in the background of some of the worlds in the Star Wars TV shows (most notable on Boba Fett), but that's it. That's the only thing they do that I think is a bit forced and blatant and inconsistent with the world building. But the main thing is, Obi Wan is bad because they hired bad writers, or they didn't give them enough time. And the wind-up YouTubers see there's a black female character and construct a narrative to wind up whoever they can. When you say this has been 'a big failure for Disney all of this' I wonder what metric you're using? Sure, Disney have **** up Star Wars beyond repair, and they have done so from the very beginning, for hiring all the wrong people and having no vision or plan—but the MCU? The MCU keeps bringing out mid-to-high quality, character-fuelled TV shows and films, a bar that has never really dropped. There are misfires, but there have been misfires from the very beginning too. Some of the best stuff has come out in Phase 4, including Spiderman No Way Home, Wandavision, Loki, Hawkeye. The TV shows, including the female led shows like Ms Marvel and She Hulk, have been a breath of fresh air—they've allowed the MCU to move away from the formula of the films and to give more space for actual characterisation, which they mostly do very well. People really are on the wind up with this stuff, and they love to connect all the dots and blame it on the lamest word they've used yet: woke. Rey from Star Wars is a complete Mary Sue, 100%, but she came from the mind of the idiot JJ Abrams, who also wrote Tom Cruise in his Mission Impossible film as someone also without weakness. The YouTube wind up merchants love to oversimplify things and connect all the disparate dots, and ignore anything that contradicts what they are saying, but they are being disingenuous—and it's them as much as anyone who has an agenda. And it's pretty much an attempt at gatekeeping what is acceptable for a superhero show.
  16. He's just looking at himself in the phone. He's talking to himself. I always find that weird.
  17. Shocking! Gabby wasted himself so much. At least Richards had injuries.
  18. The first time one of his long shots goes in and he is absolutely robbed by farcical officiating. What a finish and what a joke!
  19. He seems to be realising this.
  20. To add to the comment above. He was great. I can't believe he's 37.
