He is not a winger, see him as back up for Jack and I'd do the Gardner deal with blues a million times over. Needs to work on his strength as Jack has done, he has good vision and technique, he is an asset.

If we stay up, the squad value will increase considerably and then this guy has done his job. In my opinion only 1 of the new signings is clearly no where near good enough and 1 other who is not ready YET, the rest have decent potential.

The only reasons we would bring in Vida is if Mings and Engels have injuries that might drag on through the rest of the season, or if Konza or Hause are off out on loan. I don't think the latter is happening, they seem fine, its the way the unit operates as a whole and not the actual personnel. If its the former and Engels did look super leggy last outing, we still have Chester. Depends what feedback Chester gave them after the Liverpool game, if he's not up to it then a seasoned pro like Vida might come in. I'd be more inclined to find a better LB and DM if available.

In addition to an almost new squad, Dean himself is new to the league and is on a massive learning curve too, I’d love to know how much influence JT has on things, he’s the one who has sat in on meetings with management elite, surely he isn’t confusing things with that knowledge ? and why are we making so many errors at the back?

Good question, in my opinion, which may differ from you own, I think we have had our pants pulled down with him and a few others. He has experience at this level, which most of the others have not, I'd be looking at him to lead on the field and guide the DM when under pressure that side, we are very vulnerable there. He just hasnt connected with the defensive unit, I'll grant you he has briefly been effective connecting with Jack offensively but far from enough. In addition, he hasnt been fully fit since and before joining us. At 4m he'd be average enough back up, not 14, we may as well have put the pressure on and stumped up the money and done a deal for Bertrand. I would like him to work obviously but I just cant see it.
