  1. I just want a player where it isn't like red or black at the roulette as to whether he is going to successfully trap the ball.
  2. If his name was Doug Lewis and he was from Bromsgrove instead of Brazil hardly anyone would rate him.
  3. Was gonna throw Daniel Johnson at ya and be a smart arse but he only got to be an unused sub. I think you are right.
  4. When Alexander saw the breadth of his domain he wept, for there were no more worlds to conquer... Now Wes has won the USA World Cup he can turn his full attention towards our Champions league triumph. Good stuff.
  5. If he was signing for City, i doubt hed be on the razz in Greece for a week beforehand. It is Jack so you never know but i dont think Baldy would approve. You'd think he'd be toning it down this summer, being a good boy and generally getting ready to be put through his paces by his new gaffer.
  6. Makes a refreshing change to be bullshitted in Portuguese. I don't mind it.
  7. Edit : thats not the vid - Theres one where it goes from 3rd to 10th and everyone in shot but cant find it at the moment.
  8. Since coming on and changing the game v Germany: - Ukraine, left on the bench - Denmark, 36 mins (and subbed off) - Italy 20 mins (and snubbed for taking a penalty, 8th choice) Just stick him on when you need your arse saving after your shit shit negative football has failed to create anything.. Fans and media then feed into with this supersub bollocks just cos of a few wins against shite opposition. It still blows my mind that he never got called up to that squad last August - writing was on the wall since then.
  9. Literally a penalty that could have effectively been his last kick of a football in a Villa shirt had he missed. No pressure.
  10. Funny how a few days ago he's supposed to be a good boy and accept the manager's ("ruthless") decision when he gets hooked off as a sub in extra time. Now apparently he shouldn't listen to the manager, he should just say fook off im taking one instead of xyz.
  11. He would have put himself forward for a pen 100%. As per the tournament as a whole, Southgate didnt trust him.
  12. Mount trying to take a Quick one to keep jack off
  13. Lol Trippier must have been fuming as much as us.
  14. Needs to do what he did with Grealish on Wednesday and sub Saka off (as he wont take his favourites off)
  15. That 2-0 loss at against the Blouse 2002 - the first season. The first game at their place losing 3-0 was bad enough but the way that went made the home game even bigger. If we got revenge there it wouldnt be so bad. Villa Park felt like a warzone that night, was proper grim, just a horrible vile atmosphere. I remember Big Geoff giving it the big one after sticking it in an empty net to make it 2-0 (after another Enckelman **** up) and just thinking Jesus Christ...is this the way it's gonna be now?. Coppers with shields in front of the Holte from about the 70 min mark, us going down to 9 men and them ending up with Horsefield in goal and still not managing to muster a shot on target. I vividly remember the ref awarding a dubious corner to us with a minute or so to go and blowing the final whistle just before one of our players took it. He'd done it just so he could get over to the tunnel on the other side of the pitch for a quick exit!
  16. Dont let all this EURO 2020 bollox distract you from the fact we are going top 6 this season. This is the season to judge Smith because he's getting the players to play the system he wants. There's a clear pattern in the players we are signing or looking to sign (Smith Rowe) and it all is aimed at supporting Watkins with a high press that make us like Liverpool on steroids. The thing is these players aren’t just workhorses, they are top quality technical players who can outrun and outwork the majority of premier league sides – basically as rare as rocking horse shit. Usually at 20+ mill or so you get one or the other i.e. Traore...there just aren’t that many players with that skillset but it seems the analytics team ae trying to pick them up wherever they may be. I got to say if they manage somehow to get ESR from Arsenal we will be frightening next season. Quotes: Buendia (From premier league season) “But most underrated about the Argentinian is his defensive contribution and pressing of the ball. Buendia is absolutely relentless when it comes to pressing the ball, both high up the pitch and in his own half when in support of right-back Max Aarons. Buendia is pressing the ball on average nearly 30 TIMES A GAME, which is unheard of for a player with such creativity and dribbling ability. Of those near on 30 pressures a game, he is regaining the ball over 4.5 times a game which is the most for any attacking midfielder in the league” Sanson (standing out in a team renowned playing a high press "team of dogs") Pressing is another strength of Sanson’s. He effected 29.8 pressures per 90 with a success rate 0f 27.8 percent. To provide some context, this is more than his midfield teammates Valentin Rongier, Maxime Lopez, Boubacar Kamara Smith Rowe (last season example – but dig out any game and its the same). The work rate that Mikel Arteta picked up on has also been exceptional. At the time he was substituted against West Brom Smith Rowe had covered more distance (10.1km) than any other Arsenal player, as per Premier League tracking data. The 20-year-old had also made the most high-intensity sprints (13) and managed the highest average speed (7.71km/h) in the match. Watkins (obvious but digging out a quote anyway). As far as Premier League forwards go only Sadio Mane has won more duels than Watkins this season, and there's no waiting around for the ball to drop - he has covered more distance and made more sprints than any Villa player. As i say, all my hopes are on Smith Rowe as a final piece. I'd doubt Arsenal would be stupid enough to sell, but its Arsenal so you never know.
  17. This lad is going to be quality next season. He got thrown into the post Covid, Grealish-less shambles period last season and then got injured. Even in that period you could see the guys touch, energy and pressing. A proper Dean Smith player. I think he's gonna be the classic '"he's like a new signing" cliche in pre season.
  18. The Shevchenko thing is nice, i think hes a fan of Jack and was probably telling him how much time they spent preparing a gameplan for him today expecting him to start... keep your head up kind of thing.
  19. Sterling or Sancho trap the ball *Jermaine Jenas starts wanking
  20. "They wanted a player who had never set foot in the Champions League, or even the Europa League, a player who had never won a cup or a league or a first-rate honor of any sort. They wanted a player whose greatest contribution to his national team to that point was a flick — admittedly, a brilliantly inventive one - in a defeat to Belgium last year." People actually get paid to write bullshit and bollocks like that.
  21. Tbf we were under different FFP restraints last season vrs this season. A new updated contract would reflect that fact.
