It wasn’t a moment though we started poorly but I put it down to 3 games in quick succession (our players are not used to that) and a few starters were probably mentally more than anything fatigued. Emery then made the changes and we dominated then Lopetegui (another world class tactician and manager ) made some changes and for 5 minutes they took back some control but Don Unai made further changes and we dominated the rest of the game. Under Gerrard we would have feebly bent over and allowed wolves to do what they want with us but we reacted and then dominated second half with the exception of about 5/10 minutes when they made the subs. 5 league games later and Gerrard’s dna is being replaced by Don Unai’s DNA.

Played well today. Hindsight dictates that he probably should have started.

In hindsight should have started with Donk especially with that tweak against spuds. edit - 37 passes at 90% with 1 key pass. as you said Donk had 3 key passes he definitely drove us forward when he came into the game. kamara - 40 passes at 90% too. Normally both Dougie and Kamara are around the 55 + passes mark so there was a definite drop in levels today.

I gave up on them today then remembered Don Unai is our manager and he made the necessary adjustments to bring us back into the game. In hindsight he should have started with the team that finished but it’s all about learning for next season.

Augustinsson Is a weird one - he’ll put a performance like he did today which was amazing but then he’ll have a stinker lol. Disappointed with the point in the end after we had so many second half chances to win. If only it was Ings and not Bailey with that chance at the end. Leon needs to find his shooting boots as he has fluffed /air shot scuffed lots of chances recently.

Might be mental fatigue after that epic win on Sunday. I’m confident if this game was on the weekend we’d have been better but the players are going to have to get used to getting mentally right and prepared quickly after big wins. Oh I agree for the money it’s a stupid signing. He’s not quick enough for Emery and he wasn’t quick enough for Gerrard’s stupid tactics which makes it even more baffling for the money we paid. highest paid player at the club. If he was on half and for no more than £15million then worth a very risky punt. in isolation a decent enough left back but as it’s been said way overpriced. Jose Gaya or David Raum are two left backs who I’d like to see us try and prise away from their current clubs.
