Contributed to us getting back control yesterday when he went into the middle. Up until then I thought he was solid but he really took the game by the scruff with Douglas and Emi 2 and they helped us get the point.

After last week Don Unai implied he wants to finish top 6 “very difficult but a new important target maybe more” meaning he believed an outside chance of Top 4 was possible this season however small. “We have to go for the maximum.” Had we won at the end yesterday we would not have lost another game all season. A monster would have been created. Whatever happens between now and end of season - next season we will challenge for the Top 4. Don Unai wants to win that Trophy. We will win against Liverpool or Manchester United. Maybe not both but one of them will fall to us.

I think he looks sexy almost hunk like with that gash. Not as good looking as Moreno (I mean who is) but definitely gone up in the gorgeous stakes. Definitely worth the £456,000 plus bonuses a week we pay him now.

I don’t think anyone is scapegoating him just that we had to change our style of play to accommodate him. He didn’t do anything wrong but there was a nervousness in our game. With Emi in goal I don’t think we would have been under the cosh for the first 25/30 of the second half.

There was an outside chance of us getting CL. We have a manager who wants to win The CL. We will build our squad. I think today was more a mental tiredness if anything. It was encouraging we finished much stronger than Brentford.

We went about 15 yards deeper with this change and it took until our subs for us to sort it out.

Very good recovery from a very poor 30 minutes in the second half. First half was even maybe we shaded it. But by god Brentford dominated the first 30 of the second half. Someone mentioned it in another match thread our boys have got big bollocks now and they were the only ones who looked like winning in the end. Players looked mentally tired after that epic win last week. 3 points would have been very nice. We’re a good side.

Impressive thing about this is that when asked about the win against Newcastle he says he doesn’t like to dwell unless it’s to analyse and improve. Australia when they dominated cricket for so long were the same. “We won yes but we can smash em next time”

That’s why I think next season we’ll be even stronger. With a full pre-season of analysis and improvements in them they’ll be even fitter.

Calm down dear it’s only a transfer speculation thread on a fan’s football forum. I’d love to see Messi supplying Ollie and with SJM arse rolling the balls into him (Messi). - ain’t gonna happen but it’s the transfer /speculation rumours thread so I’m allowed to make any wacky suggestions .

The Ollie v Benteke debate is moot though because both would be starting for us in this system. Benteke central and Ollie in the ‘Bailey’ role.
