  1. As for Barbosa isn't he bit old now and missing a leg??? Plus he might not be jack's cup of tea.
  2. Yes their mentality is brilliant. However I think we could do with a bellend on the pitch. A spiky player or two.
  3. The way the youngsters played is the way Walsall used to play under Dean Smith. However the young uns looked better defensively.
  4. Brad Young is quality. He reminds me of Rooney. Barry reminds me of a young Michael Owen/ Pires hybrid. These kids have got something special. You can just tell.
  5. I thought he was good against Liverscum in the fa Cup looked good when pressing and harrying. Comfortable on the ball too.
  6. I remember one of then then European giants' manager mentioning (after a disastrous season) that the cycle of the core of most squads last about 7/8 years before they need starting to be overhauled and it takes around 3 seasons to get that core correct. He also mentioned that if you keep tweaking the squad and adding to the core playing group then if they're young enough keep most of the core group together for longer. I think Dean is about a window or two away from having his main core group.
  7. That is wank inducing. Hubba Hubba!!!!
  8. Right then who's the players we want from that squad that Anwar needs to tap up.
  9. I agree. However I still think our right side can do with strengthening. Also we don't know how long Trezeguet will be out for.
  10. Agreed. Jack's vitriol towards Atkinson was slightly OTT but it's an example of what I mean. He's always in the ref's ear.
  11. He does his best work wide. Might be an idea to start wide (either side) whilst Jack has these sub appearances. Against scumchester we looked good when both Davis and Wesley were on.
  12. If Jack stays left we can get away next season signing only one winger/ right forward. If we move Jack central we need 2 wingers.
  13. Yesterday his defending wasn't the best. It's been better but yesterday was below par. Everytime they attacked Cash it was like Bertie was on his heels. The distance between him and Cash was too large. Whereas on our left AEG and Targett were much more in sync. When Jack came on it was like he'd never been away and AEG and Elmo also defend better as a unit. Apart from when Elmo made that poor header at the end.
  14. He only really had 2 top seasons with us. 95/96 and 96/97 , 97/98 was good but not as good as the previous 2. I'd put laursen and mellberg above him.
  15. Disrupter not ending. Meaning keeps getting these niggles. He's recently come back from injury.
  16. 2nd best signing since I've been a fan (89/90).
  17. Jack and Foden in the same side....... Hubba Hubba! Go get him nswe!
  18. Overall today I thought he had a decent enough game. The problem with Keinan is the same as a lot of our players. When it matters they lack the killer instinct sometimes. Very inconsistent the lot of them except Emi, the defence and King Jack. Even Ollie has been inconsistent at times this season. When it matters? - that heavy touch he had when he was required to receive a quick pass and the ball went out of play. Playing the ball behind Matty Cash when we were on a counter, blocking Cash's shot. That was a lack of spatial awareness. A few others from today. When he comes on as a sub he uses his attributes well imo especially against tiring defenders. As I've said before I think the sweet spot for him is 20 minute cameos and it doesn't have to be when we're chasing a game. He seems a timid shy footballer and once we start bringing in the cocky bastards the entitled pricks who scream shout moan for every little thing the likes of Davis will improve because they'll pick up these lil things.
  19. @JAMAICAN-VILLAN Vitoria? Isn't that the team Nassef Sawiris was linked with purchasing?
  20. I think that he should change position and play the quarterback role. As a deep lying playmaker In the right set up I think it'll work well for him. With a couple of grafters alongside him he can hopefully revive the last few years of his career. So much promise so much ability but as one or two have mentioned his body seems to be giving up on him. Apart from 4/5 sloppy passes he can still pass the ball nicely.
  21. I mentioned in the match thread that the front 3 were too far apart imo. However with Ollie that's fine because he makes up for it with his movement and running.
