  1. I was saying your criticism of him didn't make any sense.
  2. I'm a bit worried a big club will swoop in and buy him in the summer as he will probably finish with 8+ goals and assists and is still young. He contributes so much to our goals that it is unbelievable that some people say he doesn't offer enough going forward.
  3. OK your post is stupid. Yes he could be a striker and would probably be quite good at it (has 2 goals and 3 assist in 7 games). However el ghazi has made great strides defensively lately against Newcastle maximin had 2 players on him at all times except for when Newcastle were countering. On top of that he got a goal and has got 3 goals and 3 assists in 12 games. On top if that mcginn and grealish could have easily played him in 3 or 4 times but waited too long and the chance passed. The reason we should have had 5 or 6 goals is because el ghazi should have had 4 if mcginn and grealish played him in.
  4. So who reckons getting targett for 15million was daylight robbery. Seriously twice the player Bertrand is and was for us how soton fans reckoned he was better than targett I will never know. Having him and guilbert makes such a difference and his crossing is unbelievable.
  5. Left everything out in the pitch with some extra on maximin as well
  6. Yeah but we don't need him to dominate he needs to hold the ball up (when played to his feet) and bring others in which he did excellently yesterday. He also contributes to most of our goals and whilst he did miss a bit of a sitter the chance wasn't as easy as it looked and it was great keeping from their goalie.
  7. He could certainly pick an attacking midfielder shame he just didn't know how to use them. Like the longstaffs why the **** aren't they playing one of them is worth 50 million and he sits on the bench?
  8. Players generally stop adding new skills to their game at about 24 and then start adding new ones back once they hit 28 after they leave their athletic prime. Wesley has probably 4 or 5 more years where he can easily add or refine his skills because he hasn't had as long to refine them.
  9. He spent 2.5 mil on both Connor and mcginn. Lansulbury cost 6 though.
  10. His goals have all been natural finishes I just think he is still far behind others on his development curve. Give him 2 or 3 years and I think he will dominate the prem as he will be too big to handle and will have his finishing, passing and dribbling down pat. Right now he is basically a 16 year old as he is 8 years behind Davis who has been playing in a competitive setting since he was 8. They both could be very good it is just wesley is a diamond in the rough and anything he does in the prem shows his natural ability.
  11. Remember wesley had a booking which will lower his rating by a few points o in reality he probably played a 7.3 or 4 games.
  12. Is Tammy a good finisher because he has missed 9 big chances and Wesley has missed 4. What about vardy and his 9 or aguero and his 7 or even auba with 5 and mane with 8. Kane is the best finisher in England and has missed 1 big chance everyone else above wesley has missed more than him except for ings. Jiminez apparently missed only 2 but since he fluffed 4 easy chances against us I think that should be a bit higher. Players miss big chances. Messi misses penalties Ronaldo is shit at free kicks. You can't be perfect and 95% of strikers will miss sitters aguero missed 2 against Liverpool but is he shit?
  13. Could you write an analysis on wesley to help shut everyone up about how shit he has been. Or maybe it might prove them right but seriously people keep saying he is a donkey and is basically Hogan and that really annoys me.
  14. Regarding the headers our crosses are generally very poor they are floaty and very high which either make it impossible to head or make it so if you do win it you can't get power on it. Our low balls have been very good though and have resulted in us scoring quite a few goal. And whilst wesley needs to run the front post more often the rest of our attackers need to gamble more we are a reactive side waiting for the ball to be played before we make our runs there were one or 2 crying out for a front post run but wesley can't be doing that every single time or it gets easy to read so someone else needs to do it. I think both him and el ghazi were brilliant yesterday and I am getting really annoyed at the criticism levied at them. People will say oh what a low bar he has set but you can impact the game without scoring or getting an assist and our passing was so much better today because he was deeper and was an option for our midfield.
  15. The thing is that generally mcginn would occupy. That space today he sat deeper which led to us playing better so el ghazi occupied it and if mcginn and grealish played him in earlier he could have had 4 or 5 one on one's. The Newcastle defenders couldn't handle him for most of the game. There were 2 parts where he flopped a bit but I think both of them were fouls as it looked like their centre half had his arm in his lock and it wasn't given. The problem is people are expecting him to be Benteke and the things is no one scores more than 15 goals if you are outside the top 6 unless you are Benteke, lukaku, or vardy. Wesley isn't going to score 20 goals he will probably finish with around 12 with 4 or 5 assists. That is enough mcginn will probably get 7 or 8 grealish the same conor will get 9 or 10. We score lots of goals and whilst wesley didn't contribute to our set piece goals today he was very good and aggressive and was a handful. He did miss a sitter but I think he made the right choice with his shot. Most of the time the keeper goes back post there and that is an easy finish. The keeper didn't go and he got an easy save that was great anticipation by the keeper but on a different day would have been a goal. I'm not really sure what the villa fans wanted him to do it there. Try and roof it and look like torres or hit it across goals and if it goes wide or hits the post look like a muppet he made the right call but so did the keeper.
  16. The point is the game has already slipped through our fingers at 70 minutes. I'd say this season we have lost 5-6 points due to Smith waiting too long to make a change. I was honestly terrified in the playoffs last year that we would lose because Smith waited 5 minutes too long. Against City they had scored twice before we made a change at minimum we should have made a sub straight away after they scored I was saying for a sub 5 minutes earlier. You can easily tell when we need to make a sub. Is mcginn sprinting but looking like he is moving through treacle take him off. It is as simple as that. Dean needs to sub mcginn off he is the player who gets the most tried as he runs himself into the ground. Also when we start to lose control of the game against arsenal we needed to make a sub after pepe scored and whilst we scored a minute later it was clear for all that arsenal were going to keep the pressure on us and we would collapse we needed to bring on Luiz and probably Davis so we had a proper target man.
  17. It is different to them. When he has the ball it seems like time stands still and he can just stroll past opponents. Other players work really hard to beat their man but Jack does it effortlessly. In the last 10-15 years the only players who have had that same ability are Messi and iniesta. You passed the ball to them and their defender shits themselves. They didn't beat them with pace or much effort with iniesta it was the shoulder drop and with Messi it was him flicking the ball across to his other feet and defenders couldn't deal with it. Grealish is the same except it seems like he doesn't even use a move to glide past defenders which is what is so unique about him.
  18. I was at the game and I thought wesley was great the defenders couldn't handle him he had a bit of a strop at about 60 minutes and should have scored at the death but 9 times out of 10 the keeper dives to the back post and wes' shots is an easy goal quite unlucky. Aside from that my only real criticism aside from the continuous ones nor subbing early, lack of movement etc. Was grealish and mcginn both could have played wesley in 3 or 4 times for 1 on 1s and he is pretty good at them. Once again villa fans scapegoating a goal scorer and a good performance by wesley. Very disappointed really our 2 worst players were easily mings and mcginn but everyone is complaining about 2 of our better performances. Think grealish makes all the difference for them as well
  19. You are being unnecessarily negative. Wesley has been great dominating their defenders has been coming deep and linking play up well. He hasn't made runs in behind because we haven't really been in the position to do it too much except for el ghazi and grealish.
  20. El ghazi looks like our most dangerous player from open play. Wesley is dropping deep and dominating the defenders with his strength. Grealish makes everything so much easier for everyone else. Mings and mcginn seemed shaky. Ref has been crap but I'm biased. Hourihane given us what we miss with his cracking set pieces.
  21. Agree. I think we are too soft and lack movement and aggression. We really struggle to do the basic concept of pass and move and pass and move. We don't make ourselves available to our teammates and we lose the ball easily. When we do lose the ball easily where are the tactical fouls. The little niggling challenges that make it so a player doesn't want to come near you. Every other team does it constantly to jack, John and Wesley and half the time get away with it. We need to do it and make it hard for everyone and anyone to come play us.
  22. Hopefully sarcastic. We definitely need to keep possession of the ball and find the right balls. Today needs to be all about off the ball movement and playing the right way now that Jack is back so he doesn't have to do everything and hopefully we will be much smoother in our build up play and not just in the final third.
  23. If we can get him on the cheap maybe 5 million I would like us to sign Benteke because he is the player we want Wesley and Keinan to become. But since he lost his pace he isn't really a goal scorer so he certainly wouldn't save us or be an option above Wes. However he should be able to teach them how to use their strength better especially wesley as that clearly needs working on. If we do sign him we should then spend our money on an inside winger who can play upfront and if necessary we could play el ghazi or them as a striker. I still want a midfielder but that remains a pipe dream.
  24. Any talk of a quiet January could still mean anywhere from 20-35 million could be spent based on our summer spending. That would likely be on 2 players probably a striker and a winger although I would also like another central midfielder who is a big physical presence with decent ball control and passing. We really lack a proper enforcer in the centre we have nakamba who is a good ball winner but we need someone to win headers and rough up smaller midfielders and make them scared to come into their territory. As I have said before I think sander berge would be a perfect fit. Big strong lad with decent skill on the ball and can run for days to help take the burden off of mcginn. Plus it gives us more options in midfield with substitutes as he can play as a defensive midfielder as well so we can bring off whichever of our midfielders is more knackered and bring on either conor or Luiz. Again kessie from AC Milan could be a good signing or eggestein (although I suspect he would be too much). We have a very small midfield with conor being our tallest central midfielder some extra size would not go amiss. Hopefully they also bring more off ball movement as well to help us keep the ball better and make us a stronger team.
