  1. Yes that's the problem,as I see it, we have put in some awful performances over the last couple of months. Surely the 'new' players should be getting better, not worse? ATB VLD.
  2. I am not necessarily saying 'Smith out' but I could understand our poor play and relegation position if we hadn't spent a small fortune in the summer presumably to ensure that we didn't struggle as we are now. Nearly all of those transfers now seem poor business decisions . Have we really strengthened the team? If we have why does Smith keep changing the team every game? Some of the changes have been forced through injury but most just seem to be decided on 'the toss of a coin'. I think everyone agrees that Smith is 'a good bloke' who seems able to see what has gone wrong in games in his after match 'disaster review'. The problem for me is that he does not seem able to resolve our poor play. We all want him to succeed but I , like many on this forum, are beginning to wond if the job is simply too much for him...
  3. Frankly I believe any goalkeeper would struggle with our defenders in front of them, including Reina...
  4. We are now in a relegation 'dog fight' and we only have Poodles.....
  5. Spot on, an accurate appraisal on our recruitment cock ups ( for which nobody in particular seems responsible for).....
  6. Just recently we have been consistently poor actually, ( Burnley being the only exception ).
  7. Blimey, he didn't get much help from his defence did he lads......
  8. Actually I think there are problems all over the pitch me old cocker....
  9. As far as I know there has never been a definitive statement from the club about who has the final word on transfers. I could not imagine a situation where a manager had no input at all....That would be crazy. We spent £146 million in the summer of which only £8 million was worthwhile ( on Heaton). The 22 million on Wesley was simply money lining a clever agents pocket.... ATB VLD.
  10. Blimey, I wondered where the invisible man would re-appear. Welcome to VP mate....
  11. Exhausted after 10 minutes, beaten every time he was taken on for pace and added nothing going forward. Mings dug him out time after time.
  12. Unrecognisable to the mad flapper of last year. Deserves a run in the team now. 10 out it 10 for application and concentration.
  13. Sorry, whoever bought the load of rubbish we bought in the summer must have been drunker than Danny Drinkwhisky.....Sorry for the awful pun....PS only Heaton has been a real asset, still fingers crossed as ever, I'll drink to that ...oops, sorry again.. Regards, ATB SOVL.
  14. Does anyone know if the 'recruitment team' was sacked after the summer debacle? £146 million spent and only 8 million Heaton a quality premiership player in my humble opinion.....
  15. Frankly I think that playing with better players could only enhance his game. He was immense today.
  16. Shouldn't VAR have examined this tackle, Mee completely 'followed through' in an out of controlled fashion. Thought it was bad in 'real time', looked horrendous slowed up. What was the ref thinking? His most important priority is to protect the players.
  17. Make me an offer, ( I may have slowed up a tad as I'm 68 years old now....) but I did play alongside a former Villa centre forward in about 1969 /70), yes, honestly.......
  18. I drive a Merc and I'm not German, that's enough clues......
  19. No , ex professional centre forward who understands what is required from a striker. What are your credentials?
  20. You must be the only person in the world who thinks Brian Clough did not understand football. I am all for people having a a different opinion than everybody else on the planet as it gives the rest of us something to laugh about. I suggest you find something to comment on. As I said, stop embarrassing yourself.....
  21. Sorry, you don't know what you are talking about. Brain Clough was the greatest manager of all time. I will take his opinion over yours if you don't mind, embarrassing .......
  22. Wesley 'fantastic',? He was ordinary as usual and did his best to miss the chance that resulted in his goal.....
  23. Grateful for the points in what was the Jack Grealish show. Without him we would not get another point. Usual terrible second half performance. Codger did the impossible and was worse than Wesley. Both need to be unloaded as soon as possible. Not convinced at all by the managers performance, or Wesleys.
