  1. Jack's future may already have been decided, players are routinely 'tapped up' when they are playing well. Hope he stays , of course, he is the most exciting player in the Premiership now. It is a crime that he is not playing for England, the team needs his genius. ATB. VLD.
  2. No, but good try. I don't think many members on here want to discuss Brexit at all. ATB VLD.
  3. Blimey, how did 'Brexit' get an airing on here. Who does he play for? Regards. VLD
  4. Yes, a real shame as it appears he cannot get through a full game without pulling a hamstring. It's not bad luck , he seems to have genuine problems staying fit. Best to plan ahead without him I guess.
  5. You don't have time ' to find your feet' in the Premiership. You can either do it or be dropped.......It's not known as the toughest league in the world for nothing.....
  6. Yes I appreciate that players need time to 'gell'. But when we lose , which Is often, the Manager repeatedly complains that the players aren't working hard enough without, apparently, realising that it is his job to ensure that players compete at 100% intensity. You don't need the most gifted players to survive in the Premiership, you need players who work harder than the opposition and are well coached so that they know what to do and when to do it. Not ,as they say, rocket science.... Regards, VLD.
  7. We are not 'making 'a good fist of it', we are struggling. The reason we were the second highest spenders in the Premiership was to ensure that we survived. That is a long way from being certain, indeed it looks tenuous at best. Put yourself in the owners position, if the club spent £146 million on players ( of 'your money' ) in the summer and then got relegated I imagine you would be very unhappy and would be asking how this could happen. As a successful football club/ business we need to be moving forward .
  8. We ALL want the club to do well. Having different options about how we achieve this is both healthy and normal. It is okay to disagree with someone's point of view, surely this makes the forum more diverse and interesting.....
  9. It isn't hate and it's a little insulting to suggest it is. It is simply the evidence of my eyes and experience of watching football over many years. I have asked on numerous occaśions for his ' supporters' to itemise what he does well" Apart from stating that he apparently 'runs about', that's been about it. Please prove me wrong by all means.....
  10. Frankly I will be very surprised to see Wesley back in the first team....ever....
  11. To be honest I don't believe you can teach players how to 'finish'. Top players simply 'know ' where the goals are because they have been doing this very thing since they were old enough to kick a ball .It becomes as instinctive as putting one foot in front of another .
  12. Agree with this wholeheartedly but Smith won't do this. He never see's the obvious.....
  13. I would agree with playing these two up front as we cannot seem to stop the goals flying at our end. Might as well push forward and try to out score teams as we are always going to be vulnerable in defence.
  14. Dean really annoys me when he repeatedly accuses the players of not working hard enough to win possession. Doesn't he realise what an idiot this makes him look? Can you imagine someone like Sir Alex saying that. No chance. They had to much fear/ respect for him to do that time after time. Hard work should be a 'given' from a professional footballer, if not there is something seriously wrong at this club....
  15. He might, if Smith picks him........
  16. Yes, he is a model of inconsistency ( did you see what I did there? ). Southgate is right not to play him for this reason.
  17. Expand on 'alot' please, for the sake of the thousands of Villa supporters who have actually seen him play and are not convinced that he is any good at anything football related. I thought that the 20 minute 'cameo' by Davis when he came on ( Leicester match )was more convincing than anything Wesley has produced.
  18. What EXACTLY is Wes good at then? He can't head it, pass it or score with it so what am I missing?
  19. Kodjia and Wesley.....one didn't know how to play and the other couldn't be arsed to play....
  20. They wouldn't have to be very good to be better than Wes me old cocker.....
  21. Judging by our spending in the summer then obviously not. At least the players agents were happy to trouser another fortune though. Atb. VLD.
  22. 'desiples', I think he means de simples ( French ? ), Just joking, no offence meant... come on you de simples........!!!!!!! utv vld.

    Recruitment

If the recruitment was so successful then why are we in the relegation zone? Also how many of our great summer signings are in danger of being poached by other clubs, none I would suggest.....
  24. I ám not sure that all players could be 'coached' . From personal experience as a centre forward I would explain to my team- mates exactly when and where I wanted the ball prior to games. Frankly some could do it and some couldn't no matter how many times you told them. This was at a level where the players were getting 'expencies' , ( semi pro ).
