  1. on the bench tonight versus Colombia. Lets hope he gets his first cap!
  2. yeah, doesnt make sense for him to go there as backup, not sure what he would get out of that!
  3. contract expires in the summer (if transfermarkt is correct), so ye quite likely.
  4. on the bench for Luton tonight.
  5. Mings scored the second goal afaik.
  6. i could see a scenario where he is our first choice no.6 (until Nakamba is back). Obviously, this would allow Luiz to challenge for his preferred no.8 position also.
  7. I would guess our wages might look a lot better if we offload the following 7 players (at least): Hourihane, Young - out of contract Steer, Guilbert, El Ghazi, Trez, Kalinic - Sell due to last year of contract even conservatively, that must account for 150k p/w +? Thats without offloading other players like Davis, Wesley, Targett etc,
  8. any ideas on the players/formation etc we played? ie: Did Chambers play DM or another position? iroegbunam got some mins it looks like? Anything else interesting?
  9. if he werent an attacking midfielder / central midfielder, and in any way a CDM (which he isnt)........then sure
  10. nah, just trying to be nice, i mean a RB with Hayden as support, challenge, or i dunno, another years loan. hard to write all the possible variations in a 3 inch excel cell
  11. yeah, i have all types of saddo spreadsheets tracking Villa
  12. yeah, i agree that Gabby is also nowhere near a legned I actually rank Hourihane way...way higher on the list than Gabby, who i think is a total tool and actually damaged the club with his antics and behaviours.
  13. wow. If Hourihane is close to being Legend status at Villa, we must have a seriously low bar for Legends. Personally, i just see him as a very professional guy, who did a good job overall for us, literally a million miles from Legend status.
  14. not sure, but i can see a scenario where we have a huge churn of players in the summer. Who knows tho, might be 2 in, 2 out type thing, could also see a 10 out, 8 in type scenario also. A bit extreme maybe, but i can see a scenario similar to this:
  15. re Cantwell, i find that a weird one, it said "loan with option to buy".... But doesnt Cantwells contract expire this summer?!
  16. hmm, their team will consist of Targett, Burn, Tripper, Willock, Guimaraes, Wood, ASM, Almiron, Wilson (when fit) etc, all ranging from ok-ish prem level, to good prem level. Honestly, if they dont stay up, its pure incompetence by the people managing the club. That squad is much, much better than say Burnley, Norwich & Watford.
  17. so what he is saying is: "if they stay up, i might go there for the kachinga kachinga"
  18. on another, another note, his contract expires June 2023?, we need to get him tied down asap, looks a very talented young keeper.
  19. on another note, he is huge for such a young lad.
  20. why didnt the club announce this loan?, they announced the other "youth" loans?
  21. i think more realistically: Trez - 5m (1yr left on contract) El Ghazi - 5-10m (1yr left on contract) Wes - £0 (the guy cant play football at the highest level any more, we will be lucky to even offload his salary) Targett - £20m Davis - £10-12m (assuming his Forest loan continues to go well) So i reckon £40m to £47m all being well.
  22. not in the u23 team tonight, is he injured?
  23. tbh, if he is playing behind ASM on the left, he might have the chance to be in a similar position to when Grealish was here, as in teams will double up on ASM due to his quality, leaving Targett more time and space, and have "slightly" less concern about being overloaded by opposition attackers.
  24. Assuming Trez goes out on loan or is sold.
  25. well, he's defo not out on loan, he's in the starting 11 for the PL2 game versus Newcastle tonight.
