    Keinan Davis

Davis has shown flashes of what he can do. The game against Norwich springs to mind. It's a real pity he didn't get more game time in the Championship. He could be very useful from the bench and he seems to have the right attitude. DS has clearly seen enough in him over the summer to think he is worth a place in the squad.
  2. Good luck to him. He always gave 100% when he played, just seemed to lack that bit of quality and pace.
  3. I'm not sure if it was Purslow or DS that said this but wasn't there talk of getting a player in on loan? Clearly not going top happen now but would be interesting to know was it knocked back or did we buy the player outright. I can't remember the last time I said this but I am happy with our keeper, defense and midfield options. Little light up top but that's life!!
  4. I think we need to look at the attack more like a three rather than a striker and two wingers. So for 3 spots we have Wesley, Trez, Jota, ElGhazi, Kodija and Davis. It might mean players playing in a less familiar position but that's what's required. Don't get me wrong I'd prefer if we had another 1-2 to choose from but that's looking unlikely right now.
  5. I still hope we get another attacker in by 5pm but if we don't I won't be too disappointed. Think the squad we have right now have enough to pick up points and we can reassess things in Jan 2020.
  6. Better than any new signing. Super John McGinn!
  7. I'd have thought 25-30mil is about right for him. Onomah is a bit of bonus depending how he plays. Never warmed to him at Villa. Always seemed like someone who wasn't interested in being there.
  8. The talk was that DS would listen to offers for BB and Kalanic. Not sure about Lansbury. I think we might see 1-2 out the door today.
  9. This Ben Yedder link has come right out of nowhere. I can't see it happening, hes 29 years old and they will want 35m for him. Seems to go against the business we have done so far. Having said that I'd be happy if he does arrive.
  10. I've never understood the hate directed towards Hogan. He gives 100% whenever I seen him. He's been badly effected by injuries and as a result have never really been match fit. It's not like he pulled a McCormak and refused to train. He even cut his holiday short this summer to train with the rest of the squad. For me he is still a Villa player and I'll back him if he's on the pitch wearing a Villa jersey.
  11. Can't the Championship clubs loan players after the Premier League deadline? I assume DS is keeping Davis until he knows who we have signed and can make a call on a loan then. Seems reasonable to me.
  12. I try to watch the Villa View videos when I get the chance. I like that it's pretty balanced and they do stray into other football related matters too. I like Dan and Tom but tend to avoid if the Dolan lad is on it.
  13. The question is, how long does he need with the group before he can play? I don't think his fitness will be an issue but will DS and the team need sometime with him to get him working within the system.
  14. It's seems we are getting a pretty decent deal out of Stoke for Scotty. I hope he goes there and regains some confidence.
  15. I think this season Heaton will be the best signing. The next 2-3 seasons I think Luiz.
  16. Can’t wait until he inks the deal!
  17. This is the type of player I was expected us to sign. Not huge money and someone who can play anywhere across the front 3. Great for squid depth.
  18. Few things I’d highlight after that game. We are very decent going forward. We will create chances and it’s a matter of putting them away. Tyrone should have had two today. Hourihane is a bit of a tricky one. His set pieces are so good you want to play him. But he can get over run in midfield at times. On balance I’d start him against Spurs. Guilbert is a class act but does take risks. He will get caught out but at the moment the risks are worth taking. Heaton looks a great bit of business. I think that’s No 1 sorted. In Jota and Trez we have two wingers who are able to cut inside and pick a pass. I think Wesley and McGinn/ Grealish will benefit from this greatly. I think we are still light in wide positions. Another option on the left would be useful. All in all a good win against decent opposition.
  19. I'd like to see Heaton between the sticks. If he's going to start against Spurs he needs 90mins here. I'd also like to see Luiz or Marvelous in that DM role but I don't think either will feature. I think we will see this team: Heaton Guilbert Engels Mings Targett Hourihane Jota Grealish McGinn ElGhazi Wesley
  20. I think Wesley will be the pen taker if on the pitch. This is about right IMO. I was never too confident with the Tammy pens. Even the winning pen in the shoot out against West Brom was poor. With VAR in this year I think the number of pens is going to rise so we need to take ours when they come.
  21. A sensible response to a sensible post.
  22. Getting a keeper with this amount of Premier League experience for 8m quid is a great bit of business. Right now our back 6 is looking strong: Heaton Guilbert Engels Mings Targett Luiz
