Great post , our midfield were miles away from Ollie leaving him isolated, midfield not breaking forward or retaining possession well enough , regarding a second striker the young guns aren’t ready yet and Wes doesn’t look anywhere near ( Walsall and cameo today ) even before the brain fart today and KD just no , a loan of an established striker would be great or we buy an in between striker who’s had a year or so in the championship who maybe good enough to rest Ollie and add a bit of competition to the young guns on their way through

Cashy is a real modern day WB going forward a very good passer/crosser and quick ,strong with good spacial awareness , he’s also an old fashioned RB without the ball with tough tackling and willing to get close to attackers and not get turned , he’s not been in this position or at this level for long but has already proven hel be a massive player for us for hopefully years to come ,a sensational signing ! he is the real deal ! he will also give away the odd free kick being in so many 1 v 1s it comes with the territory

Yes I agree Southgate will more than likely stay on but there will likely be a lot of conversation from the FA around the subject of set up and style of football given the squad selected / available , I still would be keener to see a fresh approach -

I don’t think Southgate will get a choice on this one , in the coming weeks the media , pundits and public asking for a more attacking future approach and also asking why JG wasn’t given more game time especially in the final will pressure the FA into forcing him to be more aggressive , personally I hope Southgate says it’s not for him and steps down -

i agree with all of this , I think we all know the modern game involves ‘game management’ but that was awful to watch at times and the ref was tricked by 90% of the nonsense by Italy, although like you said when Italy play football it’s lovely to watch , modern game
