  1. This is Dibu I presume it's the freckles that have fueled the comparison.
  2. There's a lot of pressure on Targett and Cash to contribute offensively now I think. The fullbacks seem to be key to our shape with the ball and they both get multiple chances each game. I think both fullbacks for Rangers got 20 goal contributions each (all comps) last season and while ours won't be expected to reach those numbers they'll still be expected to chip in fairly often. I'm sure they're both capable of doing so though.
  3. Horrible fixture, I dread every game against them. Hopefully they go down soon and a team who want to play with the ball replace them.
  4. Apologies to everyone who was riding the Bilva wave. I jumped on and immediately crashed it. At least I also got Watkins to soften the blow
  5. Here's an article from October last year about SC regulations with quotes from Masi: https://www.gpfans.com/en/f1-news/57984/fia-reveal-regulation-quirk-to-blame-for-lengthy-nurburgring-safety-car/ So he was well aware of the rules and can't hide behind ignorance.
  6. Red flag and then staggered time trial style release from the grid. The main problem would be that tyres of back markers would get cold and lapped cars would be in the way on the grid at the end of the first lap. Maybe doing it from the pit would be better.
  7. No tyre advantage if there's a red flag. HAM is then free to change tyres. We'd have had a straight 5 lap shoot out on new tyres for the championship. That was the best option.
  8. Didn't know the cup had started either. Turns out I got drawn in the cup against someone ranked 3k and fluked through with Raphinha off the bench. Unlucky m8
  9. Looking back at the last few seasons Masi's ineptitude has been clear for all to see. This @BOFpost is from March. At this point his credibility is nil and his position is untenable imho.
  10. I think it was because there was so little left of the lap and if they'd let all 8 go the SC may have passed the pit entry before the 8th one was past and that would mean the last lap would have to be under SC and we wouldn't have had the racing lap
  11. If nothing else hopefully this will be the last we see/hear of Michael **** Masi.
  12. If they wanted to ignore the rules in the name of entertainment they should have red flagged a few laps earlier and then we'd have had a straight shoot out on new softs.
  13. I think the only way we would do would be if both Watkins and Ings are out injured and Traore played through the middle.
  14. There is a handy dandy ignore function that in theory takes care of this for you. Unfortunately the garbage is quoted every other **** post so I've still got rsi in my retina from **** rolling my eyes so many times. Imo the site would be significantly better if the ignore function can be expanded to ignore any post that quotes someone on your list.
  15. In any context 18 from two budget players is great going. Excellent work keeping Mbeumo, most people with him in my MLs gave up 2 weeks ago right before he started returning
  16. Difficult to tell how close we were to getting Alvarez over the line in the summer but it looks like that ship may be sailing. The funny thing is I think Barca might need him more than we do at the moment.
  17. Best keeper in the league at saving 1v1s over the last 2 and a half seasons. Unsurprising but nice to see one of our players in the top right corner of these kinds of graphs still
  18. I think he does actually try to see everything from afar. He is constantly on the lookout for things coming over the horizon. That's why he's always squinting.
  19. Gerrard: “It’s great to have Danny (Ings) back in full training, he’s training quite well. “We’ve obviously got three games coming up in a week so we’ll have to manage his load. “But it’s great to have him back, it’s a real big boost for us. He certainly brings a lot more firepower to the squad.” Sounds like Gerrard thinks he'll be useful. Be nice to see some rotation of strong players over the busy period. Literal squad goals.
  20. At first I thought "Oh shit" but I've already used my transfers and I've got Ronaldo and Dalot so I might as well go balls deep and captain Ronaldo with Salah VC in case they play the game and it's a bare bones Norwich. Ronaldo is the GOAT flat track bully and it means I get to avoid captaining Salah against Villa. Last time I didn't captain Salah I picked Havertz against Norwich. They won 7-0 and he didn't even get one goal involvement. Salah got 20+ points against United. How many times do I have to learn the same lesson?
  21. Real life was too eventful at the start of the season and I missed deadlines left land right. Luckily my initial squad was okay and carried me through. Lots of burned transfers which always seems like a lost opportunity. I missed the Livramento bandwagon for example and he shot to 4.6 while my bench fodder both dropped to 3.9. Could cost me towards the end of the season. A brutal 37 points last week and down to 122k. This week I've brought in Dalot who as far as I'm aware I've seen play once ever, for about 20 minutes, against us this season. Now possibly I'll be more able to actually watch a few games that aren't Villa and make more informed decisions on transfers.
  22. Gerrard said he's progressing but won't return to training until just before Christmas. I think we'll see him back in the FA Cup game, off the bench to give Luke Shaw twisted blood.
  23. I have an odd fascination with the careers of overseas players villa were linked with over the years, especially attacking players. I thought Rashica was going to be another but if they sign for another English club the whole thing loses its intrigue for me.
  24. If you ignore the season where he scored 22 goals and got 2 assists in 31 games worth of minutes (0.77 goal contributions per 90) which as an aside seems silly to discount but anyway... if you do then he still has 33 goals and 12 assists in 83 minutes worth of games (0.54 goal contributions per 90). Pretty sure that's still above average for strikers in this league. I don't think he was the absolute optimal purchase based on where our weaknesses lie but I'm pretty sure Gerrard will make good use of him. The higher intensity will mean we need a bigger squad and this is the kind of quality we need.
