The sceptic in me ( from 25 years being a villa fan ) is that someone else will get in and nudge us out of the way with this one. I mean...he looks so good on the ball, great balance, good strength. Historically, at least in my lifetime, we don't get players like this. However, the running of the club is nothing like we've ever experienced before. We have owners who aren't just flapping their gums. Serious ambition.
Cue the Williams press conference. Will be littered with attitude. All about her. Snappy to reporters. Probably start crying. Always goes dramatic when beaten well. Go **** herself. Halep's day and I hope it's all about her. Deserves it.
I think Conor is good. Can never understate the importance of his goals and assists in the championship. Glad he has got a new deal. Still think he might struggle a bit at this level, just my opinion.
Fully deserved contract but i don't have the blinkers on. Conor is rated just about right. I don't think people here are too harsh. Good for a goal but very flawed player also and gets exposed at this level.
Djokovic's fitness and stamina is unrivalled. Federer has to be aggressive. Win the point early. Gets into a long rally match, Djokovic will deal with him...and comfortably.
Yarde gets a lot of stick in the media for fighting nobody and he's always measured up against Buatsi. Credit where it's due though. Confirmed to fight Kovalev in Russia on 24th.
Federer was very aggressive though. Not many people can make Nadal go where he doesn't want to on the court. It's probably the approach he needs to take against Djokovic too. When Federer goes for winners and he's on point, he's a very hard man to beat.
Watched the video earlier from when he played against Barcelona. Actually made Rakitic look average. Looks the real deal. Hope we can get this over the line.
Serious talent this kid. If City are basically selling him to us so we'll do all the heavy lifting with his work permit, couldn't care less and it's like this...If he is as good as we think he is and even if there was no buy back clause they'll get him anyway.
When gems like this become available you have to be prepared to make concessions. We are a big club yes, but just promoted. Let's not lose sight of that.
Only hope if he comes is that he's not interviewed every other week by the Brazilian media and says how much he respects guardiola and can't wait to play for him etc.
Seems to have great balance on the ball, bull strong and can pass off both feet. Conor did great for us in the championship but he has flaws and would be ruthlessly exposed at this level.
A buy back option doesn't exactly pertain to next summer lads. Unless Rodri is an absolute flop, he isn't getting a game with City anytime soon. And he wants to play that DM role.
I wouldn't be at all surprised if Smith signed Ryan Woods. Stoke ruined him. Linked a shit defence to an even worse attack and never hid from the ball, always wanted it. Didn't work out. We wouldn't pay big like money for him and Stoke will probably not get what they paid for him.
