  1. Why am i a bit...meh, about this. I've seen him play a fair bit. Am i missing something ? I'd have Gueye back in a hearbeat if Everton were selling.
  2. Doyle-Hayes needs a season long loan at a team that likes to play football. At least Tshibola has played senior football and he's physically ahead of Doyle-Hayes. Jake looked weak and hid from it a bit against Yeovil when he got game time with us last year. Year long loan. Games guaranteed and must work on his strength and conditioning.
  3. We need to get quality into that midfield. Nowhere near strong enough there.
  4. England's run at the world cup coupled with his goal against Sweden absolutely inflated his price. Mings is quality. Great signing.
  5. I support Aston villa. I refer to them as we. Of course I do. When we sign players for 20 million i also say "we " but it isn't my money, nor yours . If i was down a day at work that payroll ballsed up id be more pissed off than that rather than the millions my football club decide to spend on a player.
  6. What's this " we are paying ". Are deductions coming out of your wages at work to cover this. ? I never get fans getting their knickers in a twist over transfer fees. These sums of money in football are other worldly. The likes of us don't live in this world. He's a great player. Done great for us. Im delighted. Fee ? Don't care.
  7. Couldn't be arsed about the fee. None of my business. Doesn't effect me on a personal level. Did very well for us. Great to have him back .
  8. Surprised nobody has made a move for billing yet. No way he plays in the championship.
  9. Well when your sent back to your parent club mid season whilst on loan to a team who were short on midfielders as it was...doesn't speak volumes.
  10. He actually is probably physically stronger on the ball than Hourihane , can play off both feet and doesn't panic when he gets closed down like Conor does. Attitude is clearly a problem. Every manager can't be wrong. But hey...he's in for pre season. Smith will suss him out and what he's about pretty quickly.
  11. Call me crazy but i think Smith takes a look at him this summer. Involved in pre season. What an annoying player though. Can pass well off both feet but lazy as ****.
  12. Seeing the speculation tag beside a player who's signed
  13. It's the link to his Twitter page and who he is following. He's following Aston Villa now.
  14. https://mobile.twitter.com/Mattytargett/following
  15. Guy's put together with cellotape. Never fit for any sustained period. He's actually not that good defensively.
  16. Seri is pretty good. No to the others.
  17. Targett ? Ah this is definetely getting done. It's not agent dave tweeting about it. John Percy is pretty solid, works for a reputable paper and doesn't put silly stuff out. He said it's basically done. Nixon the same - he's credible, even though he works for a rag.
  18. No issue with the fee at all. When you consider Bournemouth have paid 13 million for a left back from Bristol City who couldn't even nail a regular slot last season. Yes, Kelly is young, potential etc but bigger risk imo. Targett has good experience. Played some games at this level and still young.
  19. The Jota one still puzzles me if im honest. I genuinely think he has been signed to play, some where underwhelmed by the signing and thought he's just brought here to beef up the squad. I think he'll start at Spurs first day . Really do. Which is an indicator, that Smith wants to play with wing backs. Jota is not a winger really. Guilbert looks pretty athletic and can get up and down. Heard a few saying Targett isn't quick. Seen lots of him, very sharp football brain and always seems to be in space and give the man with the ball an option. Keeps up with play comfortably.
  20. Need to add quality into midfield. Thinking someone deserves a chance because they played a part in getting us here is foolhardy and naive. Im talking about hourihane. We all know he won't be good enough next season. Wanting it and having desire - not enough at this level.
  21. Bertrand is very good. England international. Hard to dislodge. Two senior left backs vying for one spot. It's a good deal. Works out for both clubs.
  22. Very tidy on the ball. Wastes very little. Big unit too for a LB at 6ft.
  23. Only seeing Smith start to really make his own imprint on the squad now. He likes players who are not afraid of the ball and comfortable on it. Targett fits this criteria. Jota the same, remains to be seen if he can step up but again, not afraid of the ball, good ability on it. Players been signed now to suit a style of play instead of the shotgun approach of years gone by.
  24. Targett be a very good signing. Has the energy needed and the passing game for a left back at this level.
