I don't think anybody expected that straight away but there's no excuses for some of the performances we've put in under him so far.

That would have been like sacking Steve Bruce then replacing him 10 days later with Steve Bruce. The idea was to move away from that style of football.

We're getting promoted and keeping Grealish.

Whilst I'm not overly impressed with what Ive seen from Smith so far it's still way to early to want him out yet. He needs to be given a proper chance and with the amount of high wage players leaving in the summer it will be a great opportunity for him to build a younger quicker more attacking side. Will be interesting to see how much better we play once Grealish and tuanzabe return, I still think we can put a good run of 6 or 7 wins together and make the play offs.

I would have liked fer but agree with you on Westwood. He's tidy in possession and will help us keep ticking over whilst we have the ball which is something we are missing.

A matching clause doesn't make any sense to me, if they are willing to accept an offer from someone they'll accept any other clubs that meet that bid anyway surely.

Well they represent goals and assists which are quite important so no way meaningless. If Grealish could score direct from free kicks then yes it would make him a better player, being good from a dead ball is a great trait to have as a player, not any one can just do it. I think hourihane is a decent player, not on the same level as Grealish and mcginn but he still offers a lot to this side.

Love his occasional little bits of skills but for 80k a week it's nowhere near worth it. Hopefully we can put the money to good use elsewhere.

Have to agree, even after all the poor performances and results of late I won't give up just yet. Another thing, under Bruce even on our good days we could throw away games because of how defensive we were but under Smith we have actually wiped a couple of sides away completely which gives me a lot more confidence if we did reach the play offs that we could get through them. As we proved last year it doesn't matter if we finish 4th on 80 odd points or scrape that 6th place play off.

I don't think it's what the club is looking to have, it's a requirement from the league. Need at least 7 homegrown players in matchday squad and at least one trained by club.
