  1. I'd love to see that setup with Veretout in place of Sanchez, just because Gana and Veretout are the players I selfishly want to see more of at the moment.
  2. How gracious of you We're all selling clubs these days. It's ridiculous, it will lead to ruin and anyone involved in football who isn't working to fix this can kiss my arse.
  3. Question for those criticising Sherwood: Aren't you utterly sick of criticising Villa managers by now? You know Ron Saunders isn't coming back no matter what, right?
  4. Add that to the most exciting debut by a Premier League player in its lifetime. The Palace commentators were saying something like "Here's Traore with his first touch, well, not his first touch, his first run with the ball...and look at him go...[bang....o.g.].
  5. There won't be many more entertaining match reviews anywhere of this or any other game.
  6. We spent 12 million on Ayew, you would think he may have a goal in him? Is this a cryptic way of saying you think Ayew's crap and should be thrown down the stairs?
  7. [Applause] My name is Crackpotforeigner. It's been three weeks since my last issue.
  8. Having to explain "gung ho" to someone implies that they've never even played football manager games. This would therefore be like trying to explain the atomic bomb to someone who's never heard of atoms, but I'll give it a go: Basically the manager pushes a button and all the players run around a lot faster. Your chances of scoring go up by 23.5% and your chances of conceding go up by 28.5% (roughly).
  9. If we got him for free it'd cost the same for a year as paying 5 million to buy him and pay him no wages.
  10. Guzan was not to blame for Amavi's error. Okay, he was partly to blame for conceding the corner that preceded it, but the otherwise excellent Amavi and his tired legs were what gave them the ball.
  11. Mid-game at Selhurst Park his access to the Australian outback is so limited as to be effectively negligible.
  12. This shit is getting so tiring. So sorry. I'm tired of seeing Gabby starting, so the choice for me is to spend the next few months complaining that the manager is incompetent, or try to understand his reasoning. Once again, sorry for tiring you. I accept your apology. I'd probably rather you stuck it where the sun don't shine, but if you choose to accept it that's okay I s'pose

  14. People criticising Tim for taking Sanchez off at Palace should bear in mind that he hadn't played more than 20 minutes this season. Better to have an attacking player on than a DM who's knacked, even if it would have been best of all to have a fit DM on all game (or maybe not, but you can see the logic).
  15. I really hope that behind the scenes, Tim is trying to persuade Lerner to buy a striker, and I hope that's why he's playing Gabby all the time (to show RL how urgently we need one).
  16. Writing 50, 4 and 499 would be equally infuriating. Livcdxcix That does sort of angry up the blood The Woemans were more flexible with their numbering rules than you give them credit for.
  17. Well I might be the only one, but I care. Somewhere in football there should be an idea that the local club means something to the local area (one of the reasons Liverpool are so successful imo is that they make a big thing about this, albeit in a bullshit way). That's one of the reasons I support Aston Villa when it would be a million times easier to choose a club like Chelsea to support. I know, I'm a fool.
  18. I believe it too, and I don't care. It's a perfectly good reason to keep someone in the squad. It'd be nice if he didn't start every single week though.
  19. It's also possible that he'll continue to improve, and then we can have rumbles over whether he's great-but-not-world-class-are-you-joking-he's-excellent-but-I-would-never-say-great. This messageboard is truly a limitless mine of self-inflicted masochistic angst for those of us who like that sort of thing.
  20. Someone in the Championship might pay 5k or so a week for him as a punt, you'd think. Better than nothing and better than having him around imo.
