  1. Bob "Personality Bypass" Bradley for manager. [Unless someone has a better idea or maybe Moyes if he wants it]
  2. I don't know if PL experience is going to count for that much. BB has had a pretty varied career, and obviously has a brain in his head. I think he'd cope about as well as anyone. I'd rather have Moyes in because he's been here and done it, but that can also be a bad thing. Everton will always be Moyes's PL club, whereas Villa could be Bradley's (assuming he's forgiven us for rather shoddy treatment of his son by McLeish). Saying that we might not have the option of getting either of them.
  3. He strikes me as the exact opposite of Sherwood in every way. He'd be perfect
  4. Jeez, I only commended him on his ability to spot a possible job opening up
  5. Maybe if we ALL offered to go away a supporter takeover could be on the cards.
  6. was nice of him to tap up a club who had a manager, Not only is he a shit manager he is a word removed as well. No idea whether he's a word remooved or not, but I'm quite impressed with his ability to spot a position occupied by someone it shouldn't be.
  7. Exactly. The idea that a manager can sign whoever he wants is nonsense. By default, every manager would like to be given the funds to sign the last Balon D'Or winner. Ultimately every club makes the decisions at board level, based on what they can afford and what they consider to be value for money. It has to be that way.
  8. So will you still be showing him some gratitude when we are relegated? He chose to buy the club and as chairman he has made a right mess of it. Mean-spirited? After everything which he has put the fans through I couldn't give a toss about a few banners which say Lerner out on them. Yes, I will always be grateful to him for trying to make a difference in a good way. That is in no way incompatible with wanting him sell ASAP, or thinking of him as someone who's made so many mistakes that overall he's been bad news for Aston Villa.
  9. If you don't think we owe him any gratitude for spending around a hundred million pounds of his dad's money trying to make us successful then fine, but at least allow that holding up banners would be mean-spirited and pointless.
  10. And if we ever win a game, you have to suspect it'll be because the players have started to listen to him for a change, rather than because they're better players than he's given them credit for. - Which is why I'm guessing that the players can't stand him. I'd like to be wrong, honestly, but that's how I think things are likely to be in the dressing room because of Tim's big ego and even bigger mouth. On the other hand for all we know they all love him to bits, but it seems unlikely to me.
  11. Why all the fuss over Westwood? Just drop him. He had a poor game v Chelsea and we have Veretout and Sanchez available. So leave him out of the side, fine, but I don't really see the need to paint him as this appalling player who is singlehandedly holding the entire club back. At worst he's a very useful squad player on lowish wages.
  12. Sadly I'm just a fellow non-genius, but I think you could almost argue that if you have someone whose trick is to be 6 ft 7 and good at headers then having him on the pitch without kicking the ball to him at head height even one single time over 90 minutes is a bit weak. Whatever you think of Gestede, he can head a ball and is six foot seven. That is a serious goal threat right there if you use it properly, surely Shirley?
  13. He wants to go. He'd probably be waving the banners with us. Zactly. I can't wait until he's gone either, but the guy has spent a lot of his own money on the club. He might have gone about things in the most idiotic possible way at all times, but he is hardly milking the club for cash. Holding up banners seems a bit mean-spirited and ungrateful, as well as completely pointless.
  14. Aston Villa shouldn't operate as a development club. And Britain should build an enormous big navy and rule the waves again and stuff.
  15. Club should make a video biography of Charles N'Zogbia's career at Aston Villa as a cautionary tale. There's no future for players who cough up possession every time they have it. Fortunately he's better than CNZ, but he has to cut out the dead end runs.
  16. Good game from Gestede v Chelsea. Held it up when it was asked of him. Missed a half decent chance, but generally worked pretty hard with nobody seemingly bothered to try and put a ball on his head.
  17. Well we all see things a different way then. I thought he had an excellent game v Chelsea. He is fine as a RB for us. Hard-working, solid defensively, and nowhere near as bad at crossing as some suggest. He's hit and miss, but so are most FB's including the best crosser, Amavi. Bacuna's a better attacking option, but a much worse defensive option. I'd get (in order) a striker, a goalie and a winger before looking to upgrade from Hutton.
  18. Did someone say Alan Curbishley. That's who we'll get! I was trying to find someone at exactly the right level of Desperate, but the name just wouldn't come to me. Probably do better than Tim tbf, assuming we can't get Moyes.
  19. Everything you have said their pionts to a negative, an then you still say keep him?? i've highlighted the positives for you Ive highlighted in blue the negatives 3 negatives 2 positives points to Sherwood has to go Just my theory: I think he has lost the dressing room. I think the wins last season brought out a selfish sort of cockiness that the players saw through and have done since.
  20. Setting them up to fail maybe, although you could argue Gil's size counted against him v Stoke.
  21. Just because they haven't replaced him doesn't mean they don't intend to. I'd bet my cat they are talking to people. Only question is whether they've signed anything yet or not.
  22. Disagree with this. We have replaced Lowton with Crespo, Baker with Ilori, Vlaar with Richards, Senderos with Lescott,Delph with Gana, Cleverley with Veretout, Benteke with Gestede and Weimann with Ayew. I'm failing to see any level of improvement apart from Richards coming in. Lowton with Crespo: Well Crespo seems an impeccable passer of the ball so far. Has 3 or 4 more years' experience as a defender. Quite possibly an improvement. Baker with Illori: Illori is very highly rated, whereas Baker is a good squad player with a concussion problem. Senderos with Lescott: Lescott might be rubbish, but he's more likely to be able to play. Delph with Gana: So far I'm seeing a player vastly more talented than Delph, he is coming back from injury at the moment so been iffy in the last two games. Cleverley with Veretout: Wow we've had to replace Villa Legend Tom Cleverley with some promising young Frenchie? Ellis Out! Better than Cleverley in every way. Benteke with Gestede: If Gestede stays fit for a full season scoring at his current rate, I'd take him over Benteke firing for a third of a season. Weimann with Ayew: Yeah, it's a disastrous swap, that one, from a sentimental point of view, anyway. Luckily, in football terms, Ayew has shown that he is at least a zillion squillion billion times more talented than Weimann. Then there's our three best players: Traore, Gil and Grealish. Whose places have they taken in last year's squad?
