  1. I like what hes doing, with the young players.I Just have to keep reminding myself that teams with so many young players in will have bad days at the office, it's how they react, Lambert, the fans and the press that will make or break the teams performance over a season. Losing heavily against Chelsea, Vlar being injured, losing to Southampton, Wigan at home, giving away so many leads In games we should have won, leaking goals........ Next season will be less of the same ( fingers crossed) We all have to keep our feet on the ground and back the team when shit hits the fan and it will. Lambert could be great, after one season it looks promising, this time next year I think we will know for sure UTV
  2. Cascanrino, all I can remember him for is missing an easy header in the final minutes of an away leg against inter Milan, we would have gone through as well, if my memory serves me well
  3. What a mess, another ten years doom and gloom for England. Quite how the FA have managed to screw up our international teams is beyond believe. 1996 was the last time I watched us with any belief, it was villa and England for me. I don't give a hoot about Englandvnow. The London mafia have killed em, Wembley is a soulless flatpack stadium and the team's full of players who could have been great, but like icerarus they were drawn to the bright lights far to young.
  4. The last time Arsenal brought a first team player of us was 25,years ago, for all Arsenals fan fare they are really just a premier league version of Crewe, they ain't gonna pay Any where near the amount of money we would want for any of our player's, just like spurs. All mouth and no **** trousers.
  5. Watch a utube compilation of nzogbia or ireland, they look unplayable, not convinced tbh, unless he's under 5m........
  6. Talking to a Coventry season ticket holder today, their in a right mess, he can't order his season ticket till he knows where their going to play, even if they are going to play. He then said that he loves a day out at football and may look for another club to follow, his brother has already got a baggies season ticket. He said he was thinking about the Villa.... Villa marketing should be on this like a shot, its an opportunity to pick some dedicated football fans up quite easily, if the worst happens to Cov. It would have to be done delicately but its such a good opportunity for us, get the mailing list of their season ticket owners and make them an offer............?
  7. He will only go to Lpool if they meet our valuation, which I would guess be around 35 m. He isn't going to throw his dummy in to play for em that's for sure. In away them coming in and asking how much has blown the likes of Arsenal and Spurs out of the water in a money point of view, they would never pay over 20m for him. It's down to our management judge how much he's worth, and at 35m I would let him go. Benteke is a good player, he never started that well, missed a sitter before he scored and had a few indifferent games after that, Lambert and the most fans stuck behind him and he came good after that show of good faith. I'm not sure other teams with more demanding fans and management would have or will do. However it's his career to manage and we have a club to manage that's more important than any one player. UTV
  8. Money from Carroll as well, they could match a 35-40m price .....
  9. Got two good feet and he's direct......plus hes cheap on fees and wages,, loan albrighton out and see how things level out.
  10. Get the team sorted first, then when the games are exciting the fans will come. Neutral fans, those that love good football, a good game will fill the stands. Then with a decent team, home grown, young players these fans of football could become villa fans, we have the catchment area it's upto the powers that be to fill it. UTV Ps I don't like that pictures, it's like flat pack stadium with those ugly support structures
  11. 80k! Madness, we won't be offering anything near it. As for Andi, 25-30k, we can't expect to keep our wages low for certain players and pay others high wages. Who would pay him more and actually play him as much as us? I can see him moving but I think it will be the end of a promising football career
  12. I know plenty of football fans who go to watch games because they love the game, not just the team that's playing.
  13. Once we start to get success on the pitch the fans will come, we can increase capacity then. Villa have a large catchment area and we have only one pl rival, WBA.London based teams have plenty of competition for fans. It's very early to judge Lambert but from his player signings, the style of football he plays and the backing of the fans he has received at villa park, even when we have lost, I see a bright future. I wasn't sure about Lambert when he came to us, I had my doubts when he backed the youngsters against the experienced players when we was in the shit, he gambled and he was right, Lambert and Villa are beginning to look and very good match IMO.......UTV
  14. All boils down to how much money he wants to sign a one year extension to his contract, if it's to much or he won't sign then it will be upto him, his agent and the buying club to meet our valuation. He's been a great villa player but that's not to say he will grow as a player either at villa or another club. He's good but he's not irreplaceable and I have a feeling PL will have made moves to cover him leaving. Keep the faith UTV
  15. 9m over 3 years is different to a one off 5m payment. Another club is more than likely going to loan him and that should pay ay least 40k towards his wages. If we pay 5m upfront he will just get a 40k a week position at another club. If Guzan gets injured we could recall him and use him again. He would be better than what we have now. Perfect situation would be to let him leave on a free and pay him no wages at all. When AVB left Chelsea they just continued to pay his weekly wage until he found another club, no pay off, seems like a common sense way to deal with situations like this.
  16. We need a reserve keeper, just pay him his weekly wage and leave him on the bench or in the reserve's, maybe loan him out if the other club pays a proportion of his wage, 5 m pay off is extremely bad value for us and gives a green light to our other deadwood. Time to play hard ball.
  17. He's not on a lot of money and his contract is up, it's a game of poker between us, him and his agent as to how much a week he's worth. I think 15-20k a week. Don't think he can play through the middle atm, so as a half decent winger that's all he's worth imo.
  18. Spurs or Arsenal, he will be cheap to buy and an easy player to use as a sub and sell on at a higher fee in a season or two, has levy written all over it
  19. I think another French player maybe on the books, they have a strong youth policy over there and he must have his scouts looking very closely there for us to have found Sylla. I would like to see another LB, 2 midfielders, can't see Delph in our long term plans, a CB and maybe another striker if Bent goes, or Wieman.
  20. I don't hate Terry, he just lacks class IMO. In a similar way to Savage, I suppose as a Chelsea fan you would love him, he wins at all costs. No more Terry comments from me, unless his uglier side rear it's head again..........see ya next season
  21. He changed into a kit and is wrestling it off Lampard, who was captain on the night and who quite clearly wanted to lift the cup, in the end you can't even see Franks face. Typical bully boy attitude and I bet most of those players, behind closed doors, dislike him. We have all met characters who carry similar traits, most we forget about after we leave junior school.
  22. Says it all about the man at 27 seconds on, why he had to push his way through all the real winners, its embarrassing............
