  1. Entertaining enough game if rather one sided. Samba, Green & O'Hare probably the best of the bunch but against part time opposition who have an entirely new squad from last season it doesn't really mean a great deal. Baker should seriously consider wearing one of those Petr Cech helmets, The amount of head injuries he gets is beyond a joke and must be quite concerning for his long term health. At least something like that may help cushion some of the impact
  2. Not very often you get to see Vertout and i guess this could potentially be the last time
  3. Terry is at wimbledon watching Andy Murray so very unlikely he will be playing in either game
  4. Best of 10.26 seconds vs 9.86 seconds, If Lewis blinked at the start Daley could have beaten him '84 Olympics Lewis won 100m gold with 9.99, Thompsons 10.44 decathlon time would have got him through all the heats to the 100m final
  5. I think the problem here is that all the experts & Mayweather himself think that Mcgregor is going to treat this like a traditional boxing match and stand there throwing jabs and trying to find an opening. I do not believe this will be the case at all, at least for the first 3-4 rounds, Mcgregor probably has it in him to just go in there windmilling and chasing him around for 10 minutes or so before wearing himself out and this is probably his best chance of winning. He isn't coming from a normal boxing background so will be throwing punches from all sorts of weird angles that Mayweather will not be used to/expecting and he certainly would not be used to someone basically running at him. Mcgregor hits hard and potentially only needs 1 or 2 to connect to achieve a KO and if he throws enough crazy shots for the first few rounds he may well just land one. Mayweather isn't regarded as an especially hard puncher, in the last 10+ years he has stopped 2 people so i don't think Mcgregor will be that concerned about potentially leaving himself open to a big shot whilst he tries to knock his head off. If he is unable to do this quickly i would imagine then that Mayweather will take over and it will resort to a more traditional fight but the first few rounds may just throw up a surprise
  6. links to both on official website https://www.avfc.co.uk/News/2017/07/11/watch-telford-kidderminster-games-live-here Wish they would announce the squads so can make a decision on which game to attend. Telford 10-15 mins away for me but Kiddy only 40 or so but often takes an hour+ due to evening traffic
  7. 99% of all premier league games are shown on live tv worldwide, does it affect attendances? not really. Our attendances were not down for the past few years due to dodgy streaming, they were down because we were shit
  8. How? Doubt too many people from overseas are regulars at any of the grounds
  9. Quite happy to have him back after going through a period of calling him everything under the sun for his first few games here If he can keep up the clean sheets he is doing his job regardless of us having no defence or 6 at the back. Some of the best keepers in the world only have to face 2 or 3 shots per game because they are playing for real Madrid against a pub team etc, As long as they are making the saves when needed they are doing what they are paid for. 8 clean sheets in 20 odd games is very good going and puts him not too far off some of the best rated keepers around who play for much better teams than us. Considering when he came he looked like he was trying to juggle the worlds slipperiest ball every time it came near him it would seem that he improved quite a lot over the course of his time here so hopefully he can carry this progress on again this year. As a comletely meaningless comparison, De Gea only kept 16 clean sheets in 45 appearances for what people considered to be a Jose Mourinho ultra defensive Utd last season. He has a decent kick too which can instantly turn defence into attack as seen by his "assist" against Norwich There are a few reasonable saves in this vid :
  10. Didin't Aly Cissokho fail a medical at Milan apparently because they didn't like his teeth? Nothing actually wrong with him but they said his goofy teeth may lead to a future health problem. Aly always said it was just crap, he passed the medical with no issues but Milan wanted to renegotiate payment for him and when they couldn't agree terms they pulled out and said he failed the medical
  11. For those that like bearded players, keep an eye out for this on Wednesday
  12. Not bad for a scrawny, pasty, afro haired lad from Dunblane with a congenital knee condition & knackered ankles
  13. Apparently you can now buy standing tickets in advance. (Print yourself e-ticket) https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/afctelfordutd?platform=hootsuite Away end terrace is the Budget Gas Frank Nagington South Stand (Green on the stadium map)
  14. Moved in Jan for 10+ million and instantly turned shit and forgot how to score goals (0 in 15 appearances)
  15. As i said the other day, He would be guaranteed 1st choice keeper, We are likely to be live on sky 20+ times so he will get far more exposure than the 8-12 games that most of the crap prem teams get and surely it looks better to play 40+ games for a team that (hopefully) wins most of them rather than a mid/low prem team where you will be lucky to win more than 10 games and are generally only live on tv against the big teams which means a lot of picking the ball out of the net
  16. Looks to be £75 mil + Rooney free loan for a year. Although Jim Shite on TS is saying no deal agreed and his tongue seems to be firmly attached to Farhad Moshiris bumhole so seems likely he would know the truth
  17. People are putting money on him anyway. down to 5/2 on skybet for Hart to move here. Was 8/1 on Monday
  18. Ground holds 5,000(ish) Attandance for the game there last year was a little under 3000 but that was on a Saturday so a midweek game will attract less. It will be an 11 of some sort as we also have a game against Kidderminster at exactly the same time. Squad for last year was : Gollini, Suliman, Elphick, Baker, Cissokho, Gana, Westwood, Green, Ayew, Sinclair, Gestede Subs: Mason, Hepburn-Murphy, McKirdy, Cowans, Johannsen (gk). We also had a game at worcester the same day although this was later on in the day. The only possible reason for a big turnout is if the team is announced early and it ends up being Terrys debut, Big players can attract big attendances at Telford, Nearly 7,000 turned up to watch wolves reserves vs liverpool a few years back as gerrard was playing after recovering from injury (safety certificate has since reduced the capacity)
  19. Wonder how much he would have played last year if he hadn't picked up an injury early on. He started the first 4 games as part of a 4 at the back but then got an injury that kept him out for a month or so. By the time he was fit enough again they had switched to 3 at the back and there wasn't really much opportunity for him after that
  20. If Hart can't get a guaranteed start at a premier league team we may well be his best option. We will be on TV more than most of the prem teams so not like he wouldn't get any sort of exposure. Loan for a season with the option to buy if we go up? Newcastle supposedly interested in him, If he goes there i doubt Krul would be happy on the bench so he could then be someone to look at
  21. Think the below image sums him up pretty well. In less than 20 years John Terry (Chelsea) has won nearly as much as we have won in 140+ years.
  22. He went from absolutely shite that couldn't catch a simple ball to pretty reliable for the most part in the space of a few months with an ever changing defence/midfield in front of him. I have gone from never wanting to see him again after a few weeks with us to struggling to think of anyone better at this sort of money that would want to play in the championship. Who are these other keeps that people think are miles better that would want to play here?
