  1. What rubbish. I haven't actually read enough about the situation to have formed an opinion as of yet but came across this on twitter and thought it echoed a few opinions on here. Just out of interest, what is rubbish about it? Kinda has that whole Daily Mail editorial vibe to it. I mean what would English people do if a whole host of nations decided to play risk with your little Island and bombed/armed the hell out of it? Oh, of course, you are special and would fight yada yada yada. It's them there damn furrernerss!!!
  2. Yes, very true. I would have just kept quiet if I was him but to take Conor on with verbals was only going to end one way. As for UFC191 was a bit disappointed with Lineker vs Rivera - hardly even locked horns That was an epic fight... something like 100 shots landed. At least they got the fight of the night bonus as compensation for all their recently deceased braincells.
  3. they were right to destroy Saddam (imo) ... but it should have been done first time around had Blair not done it on the basis of a lie he wouldn't be so reviled but America wanted it's revenge for 11/9 so badly they attacked the wrong country and Blair (and Bush) should have to pay the consequences for that Blair needs a trial and a date with the hangman for what he did. Sorry, I don't agree with death penalty. What you're describing is a kangaroo court. There's been enough death. And I don't agree with the Blair is war criminal brigade because I think it let's the British people off the hook. They knew what the **** they were doing. And the same goes for us in the USA. I am so sick of ordinary British and American people pretending they were gullibly deceived by their leaders. I actually protested in the streets in 2003 right before the bombs started in Iraq, in NYC. It wasn't hard to get the real facts. But there weren't many people helping out with the protests. I was mostly with grannies from Connecticut and old hippies. The young weren't there. I still feel really really angry about how relatively alone we were. I went on a couple of marches around here over the summer related to the BLM protests and it the crowd was pretty devoid of youth, except those with obvious stereotype hippy leanings. Marching through town, the typical reaction was people taking selfies with the protest in the background and then ignoring it.
  4. Oh I agree about Clark's recklessness. But you never ever want your centre back exposed like that, and I'm really not sure about all those who think Lescott is gonna magically fix things. He went to hell at city the last couple of years and wasn't exactly lighting it up at WBA either. I'd much prefer if he was cover for our first choice CB pairing.
  5. Delighted that NI managed to claw that one back from the brink... Huge game against the Germans for us now. Given the Poles massive GD it looks like we're gonna need to beat both them and the Germans unless the Scots do us a massive favor. A bit karmic if we don't making as we're largely responsible for the expansion (and ruining) to 24 teams of the euros.
  6. A certain Mr. Hodgson is shilling pretty hard for a certain Mr. Grealish right now.... International footy is being poisoned by the ability of players to re-declare at the senior level. How long before it degrades to the level of athletics where nationality can be bought and paid for.
  7. We reap what we sow. The standard of living in Syria was quiet high with a good healthcare and education system and a fully functioning economy. Now the country is destroyed. How did that happen? Answer: Opportunistic empire building scumbags in the French/English/American governments saw the initial democratic demonstrations and forceful response of the Syrian government as an opportunity for regime change (that this would also help with the building of a gas/oil pipelines from Qatar/Saudi to Europe is surely only a coincidence). Last I read, all of these countries claim to be democracies, therefore the populations that enabled/enable this behavior will now have to bear the costs associated with an outcome that was completely and in no way possible to predict /sarc I mean what could possible happen by dumping enormous quantities of arms into a country all in the name of democracy? The same democracy that we are so happy to support in Egypt now... sigh
  8. You wot? The current TV deal means guaranteed profits given our wage bill & net spend of ~0. Remember he also owns an asset that has at a minimum appreciated solely due to the improved TV deal. How much $$ is being extracted in the form of wages and other expenses etc by Randy and his crew?? He sold the Browns in 2012 to generate cash... wonder how much he lost/hw levered up he was in the 2007-2011 period.
  9. I just stumbled across this. A trial run whereby players will be given a green card for sporting behavior in Serie B this season. Seems a bit pointless to me, although it is an admirable idea in principle. Would be pretty cool if you could earn one of these and then get a freebie at someone, e.g., Rooney. http://www.msn.com/en-ie/sport/serie-a/serie-b-introduces-green-cards-to-promote-good-behaviour-fair-play-and-sportsmanship/ar-AAdXfHF?ocid=mailsignoutmd
  10. So both Randy and Levy are playing financial shenanigans Randy: Bleeding the club dry to pay off his debts... something worse than a relatively empty space in a region containing an overdensity of trees! Levy: Hmmm, surprised by this one (Bale does bias it)... they are going doing a new stadium thing so maybe they're saving/leveraging up for that
  11. Awesome job! laptop/phone/tablet looks great. ...and great to see the trusty side bar make a return on the homepage. Any Chance it could be less verbose and contain more recent posts
  12. Those countries who explicitly helped destroy Libya/Syria should front up. Looking specifically at you England/France (also USA/Russia). Obviously, I don't expect any input from the tinpot middle eastern dictators. In human tragedy terms, this is awful and everyone should help out. But I would suggest that if the taxpayers in the above countries were directly confronted with the results of their politicians actions, some longer term changes might happen. This shit just keeps repeating...
  13. International break should help break up their momentum and will also allow Ranieri to get to work. We've plenty of pace in the team now (modulo Hutton/Clark/Lescott), so should do ok away from home.
  14. I don't think the continuous bleating by Dave 'I broke my leg in the FA Cup' Whelan about RM being one of the best managers in the league helped. I don't mind RM but he isn't all he's cracked up to be. I think he can set his team up to retain possession well but defensively he's naive. He's got an FA cup in his cupboard that's argues against you. I think it's too early to be saying he not all he's cracked up to be. One good season and one bad/indifferent season at Everton and they appear to be inline for a good one this year. If he was English... but I shouldn't go there as it may attract some Daily Mail "readers"
  15. Hope he's a better player than the other sprinter in the squad!
  16. Think Tim will turn enough draws into wins to get us into mid-table comfort when things are said and done. Nasty run of fixtures comes mid Feb/March which could make things quite scary though
  17. Lovely... that tight c#4% Levy deserves to have someone do him for once.
  18. Is the loan window for champo clubs still open? It would be good to ship Baker out, get a yrs experience leading a club to a promotion fight. B'mouth CBs don't look to bad at all, so the drop in standard wouldn't matter all that much.
  19. meh, happy as fook with this summer. We've come a long way from last summers stalking old folks homes nonsense
  20. I'm delighted.. 30m less for Utd and a whole bunch of media pressure and that's not even counting the random signing of a kid for a kings ransom. Real will be somewhat alarmed as Navas is pretty iffy. If I was De Gea I'd demand an extra few million as a sighing on bonus/apology.
  21. Wonder what the chance of Giggs or Klopp being in charge by next season. I can't see them blowing up, but finishing 3rd/4th and second round CL along with playing this same old results driven control football all season, could see serious pressure on getting someone who plays "The United Way" in. Anyway, given the last 20yrs I'm loving seeing some chaos there
  22. As for fixing the CL... easy Straight knock out competition from the off... 2 legs, expand it to 64 teams. Only seed league winners, everyone else gets fed to the sharks. knock knock.... wake up fool, there be $$ at play, now get back to watching those advertisements
  23. The Europa league is dead easy to fix. 1) CL place for the winner -- done 2) CL clubs can fook right off, when they get knocked out in the group stage -- ??? Screw PL clubs and their disdain for this competition. Chance at winning something and some adventure vs same ol' crap different year in the league. I'll never forgive O'Neill for chucking it against CSKA.
