  1. Valdes would be absolutely worth a shot... At the very worst he'd give Guzan some lessons and a good hard kick up the arse AND he would add a massive amount of experience to the squad, i.e., Lescott^3
  2. Love the last hrs of transfer window... panik panik https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iZDMN0y-hX8
  3. Poor defending from Clark, but he was left incredibly exposed. Sanchez is getting away with murder here. Incredibly rash challenge in the centre of the park, leaving his centre backs completely exposed. If he was going for that ball, he had to win it or foul. Letting the opposition in on your back four like that when you're supposed to be a DM is criminal.
  4. we should bite the bullet and try to buy him out at this rate, at least we'd get rid of his crappy attitude around the squad
  5. Rubbish impulsive attempt at a tackle cost us for the second goal... could do with heading back to the bench
  6. Looks like a prat, acts like a prat, plays like a prat. What a waste...
  7. Good addition to the squad, but he's clearly on a downward trend... I hope he's willing to acknowledge this and be happy to be the squad player we need at the back when required to. I'd love if he started being lethal at set pieces again.
  8. it'll be interesting to see how this changes before the window shuts
  9. I love how at Kennedy space centre they have a theatre with a mock up of the moon and a 1/4 size landing buggy, lunar module and astronaut... a love letter to conspiracy folks
  10. Never seen him play, but the press is suggesting 22m, which seems a lot for a 23yr old with ~20goals in ~80 games. How do you think he'll cope with premier league long ball land?
  11. I'm sorry to single you out, but I think this is an awful post. It's opinions like this that make me think that that rather than Gabby, the club would be better off without fans like you! When a new manager comes in, as a matter of principle I would not have a too much objection to a general clear out of the old guard. Of course one must be careful not to go kamikaze and chop heads for the sake of it. In this specific case, we have a player who is very closely related to the attitude and entitled complacency that has griped villa since the final days of when MON was in charge. He has consistently been rubbish for at least the past couple of seasons and has started off this season looking like he simply couldn't be bothered (and that he's rapidly dropping in ability). Nothing pisses me off more with regards to football than a player who won't put a shift in. Gabby strolls around the pitch with "I'm brilliant me" attitude week in, week out. In addition to all of this, he is one of the highest earners at the club. You are perfectly free to attack me for having this opinion, which I think is pretty reasoned and justified as internet opinions go. I must ask what you are interested in happening to the club though, as I am doubtful as to whether emotional reflexive defense is what is needed to improve on the depressing rubbish from recent years. Sentimentality will only hold Villa back. Gabby out (at least from the first team)!
  12. Good riddance He's part of the old guard, corrupted to the core by the utter ineptitude of recent yrs. The club would be a far better place w/o him, and the newer lads might actually get a chance to grow and define this new team in their image.
  13. I'd be happy if he just ran himself into the ground once in a while, instead of man marking the nearest centre back
  14. Vid is up on liveleak for those interested, no gory details in it, but it is scary/frightening as fook When all those school kids were slaughtered a couple of yrs back and nothing changed... a really sad indictment of this country.
  15. Too much sanity on display here. The Queen will be most displeased to hear any bad words about these brave English teams.
  16. Drove up/back from A2/Detroit to Montreal for the F1 gp a couple of months back.... around Toronto is hideous industrial desolation, but some of the rest was nice to drive through. It's about 10-12hrs with a couple of quickish food stops, but if yer gonna be staying Toronto for a night or 2 it'll be much more enjoyable. Take the 403 when leaving Toronto, it's a toll road but there are some pretty nice views around Hamilton.... 401 is free but very functional. A2-Chicago is a horribly boring drive though only 3.5-4hrs of nothingness, cruise control is your best friend!
  17. Was watching that live... took NBC a couple of minutes to get to the camera angle where you clearly see the huge chuck hit him and go 100ft in the air, and his car immediately veer off under no control into the wall. Racing around in circles is insane.
  18. I can't believe Guzan left that window unlocked. Really poor decision making from Guzan there. With his experience he should know that jumping out the window is a risky move, especially with a perfectly working door opposite.
  19. Nothing... QE is used by those with wealth to maintain their wealth regardless of their investment/gambling decisions. That was my implied point... anyway, back to blaming silly Chinese communists for making a mess of things.
  20. Gabby is by far and away the biggest problem in the team right now. Let's focus on him and give Westy a break.
  21. Minimal collateral loans creating huge bubble in price of stuff, further margin lending backed by stuff at crazy prices (e.g., oil)... price drops, whoops Lets see how long it takes for the parasitic bankers to look for a bailout of their precious free market again. Bailouts have NOTHING to do with free markets, they are the antithesis of free market capitalism. You do know the essens of a free market is that it is free from government intervention? Blame greedy bankers and the politicians that enable them, but keep free markets out of it. EDIT: If you actually believe the US have free market capitalism, you should put more hours into your self taught economic theory. errr... I believe you have rather unfortunately misinterpreted my statement. I guess I should have put free market in quotations. I simply think it's self-evident that the whole free market thing is silliness told to the plebs to make them feel all warm and fuzzy. See, you're poor and I'm rich because I work hard and/or am smarter etc. than you. It's a free and fair system and you can make it too etc etc. Now more QE please 'cause stawks and triwcle down

  23. It's hard to be too critical given that him & Richards are new together, they really need to be working on their position and communication in training as they're getting separated way too easily right now throwing the entire defence out if whack. This is mostly due to Richards right now. Clark can be (is?) a good PL level defender but I don't think he'll ever cut it as someone holding the entire defence together. It's also clear that trust in the Gk is missing right now and that really needs sorting out, either in training or otherwise.
