  1. Was that a totally accidental collision with Kalvin Phillips or did he deliberately try to impede the German player and get crocked as a result?
  2. Maybe... Makes more sense. It certainly isn't shown that way on the Google sports app, but that's most likely made-up nonsense.
  3. What even is that lineup? Trippier as a right wingback, and Saka as a left wingback? And Mount on the left again when we have Grealish on the bench? It's just so confusing.
  4. Wow, uses all the same sound effects and everything. No idea what it's about, but then I'm still slightly uncertain what Dark was about despite having watched every episode
  5. I don't know, King Consuela Banana Hammock has a ring to it...
  6. There are other models though. Head of state doesn't have to be different to head of government. If we do get rid of the monarchy we could devise a whole new system of government and state, there are no restrictions. Also, it's not really true that the Queen has no power. She may not always exercise it, but if she wanted to...
  7. I'm no fan of Sterling in many ways, but the last England game showed that the Bellingham/Grealish/Sterling axis was a tremendous footballing combination. Bellingham's solid play and control of the midfield, Jack's creativity and inch perfect passing and Sterling's one true excellent ability in quick darting runs in behind the defenders and arriving at the right time. Build the team around that, stop letting Sterling think he can do anything else, and we'd have a real shot at the world cup. Other variations exist that we have seen work in fleeting glimpses here and there. So why not go with them? Just why? We've all seen it, we all know what could be achieved with these players. It's just baffling.
  8. I've heard it two days in a row now. Has it been in Stranger Things or something?
  9. Ardal O'Hanlon talking Swedish on this week's taskmaster
  10. "Look, mum, I did my tie up all by myself!" says little Boris excitedly.
  11. Just got to midway through season 2 of TNG in my rewatch. Season 1 was pretty universally poor. Season 2 is better, although still has some terrible episodes. However... The Measure Of A Man is an absolutely outstanding episode. I'd go so far as to say it's not just one of the best TNG episodes it's one of the best episodes of TV that has ever been made. Yes there are a couple of contrived scenarios created in order to set up the hearing but still the overall episode is a triumph, brilliantly written, brilliantly acted and leaves the kind of lasting impression that only the very best TV can.
  12. I'm not going to agree with the whole move to imperial measurements nonsense that the Troies are talking about because it's stupid and I much prefer the consistency and standardisation of metric units (especially for temperature, I mean come on) BUT... Imperial units in certain areas were actually kind of useful, especially in the pre-calculator age. A lot of units were based on base 12 or other powers-of-two numeric bases, and this made quick calculations very easy. 12 has a lot of factors - 2,3,4,6 - and it's easy to divide and multiply. Base 10 is actually really cumbersome and hard for the human brain to work with quickly for anything other than very basic maths. The biggest issue with Imperial units is the stupid array of inconsistency and variation and poorly chosen scales (Fahrenheit I'm looking at you). But, in this day and age, decimal makes much more sense and everyone knows it (apart from road distances which I still hate in km for no good reason).
  13. I don't know about Kamara, but I remember Veretout saying he chose us over Leicester because he liked the historic look of the Holte End. So... presentation can be important I guess.
  14. It's so badly worded though, especially to modern eyes. It isn't clear if the well regulated militia is the same thing as the "people" it refers to. I mean, logically it is, and it is talking about the ability for the people to be able to prevent total government oppression etc. but it's unfortunately easily open to misinterpretation. It needs a rewrite imo in modern language to make it clear. Like that'll ever happen...
  15. Hahaha, replies like this one:
  16. There's a story on the BBC coverage this morning from someone who spent a thousand pounds (!!!!) on a ticket (and then I struggle to follow exactly because the language is poor) it seems like the stadium scanners wouldn't accept the ticket so they couldn't get in. Sounds on the face of it like at least some Liverpool fans were defrauded and landed with fake tickets. But even so... Spending a grand on a ticket? I mean, you've got to at least suspect something is up there...
