  1. Is that a change made for cost reasons? Or environmental?
  2. I like Jodie Whittaker but bit has she been given some awful scripts to work with. The last special (with the Sea Devils) was all sorts of terrible. A return to RTD and a new Doctor is definitely welcome, although even then I felt RTD's time at the helm had a lot of nonsense in it and got weaker as the seasons progressed. Still, looking forward to it.
  3. If they ever get to the podium... What a load of nonsense this all is!
  4. Turned into a great race since the safety car
  5. Although... Should he have waited for the full safety car that looked inevitable?
  6. Russell has played a blinder here.
  7. Lewis cuts across Alonso: "I've been hit from behind"
  8. Ooooh rain. Could be interesting if it's a bit wet.
  9. I'm wondering if this is across the board in just about every department. Our six month old Kona Electric has already got a significant paint chip on the bonnet from (I think) a stone hitting it, and lesser one on the door from something similar. My previous cars (Alfa, Hyundai, Skoda) were pretty immune to this sort of thing with their multi-layer baked on paint finishes. Are car companies cheaping out on things now that seemingly "don't matter" but in fact actually do matter after a period of time?
  10. Well, Hamilton out qualifying Russell for a change
  11. A lot of what you say is true. Star Trek now isn't like it was. That would necessarily be a bad thing in some ways, but the fact is most of the writing is just terrible. The first couple of episodes of Picard season 2 seemed really promising, but it just got bogged down and ended up being a bit of a slog to get through. The writers just don't seem to be able to for good character interactions any more, I don't really get it. Everyone just has to keep delivering wordy pretentious monologues all the time. There's no natural conversation at all.
  12. "Labour is in charge in Manchester, Liverpool, Newcastle and Norwich, too." Norwich? You're listing large cities with Labour control and you choose Norwich? Anything to avoid mentioning Birmingham eh? Typical Guardian.
  13. Ohhhh, yeah, there's an episode 10. It certainly wraps the season up much better than if it had ended at episode 9!
  14. Finished Picard season 2. Didn't love it, didn't hate it. Was a bit pedestrian, everyone spoke in mind numbingly long pretentious monologues and there seemed to be too many storylines going on overall. Some didn't like the ending - I thought it was ok but no more. They sort of tied all the loose ends up. Oh and... I just think it could have been a really good four-parter with snappier writing and fewer storylines. Also, the characterisations annoyed me. They could have switched the dialogue around between any character and it would have made no difference. The big thing about Star Trek that distinguished it was the excellent characters, and that just seems to have been lost somewhat.
  15. Brum ones are here: https://www.birmingham.gov.uk/directory/69/local_election_results
  16. My company are opening some new, albeit tiny, hot-desking offices. They don't have a kitchen. They have a T-point. Aaaaarrrrghhhhhhh f#!!#&&&#& T-point nonsense! It's a kitchen! A KITCHEN!!
  17. It is kind of amazing. Just always cheers me up. It's a slightly uncomfortable subject though!
  18. I didn't realise there was a full length video
  19. I seem to recall that was a blatant foul that wasn't given. But he was still being overly risky dilly-dallying somewhere around the edge of our penalty area.
